An Empirical Approach to Analyze Creep Rupture Behavior of P91 Steel
Aslam, Muhammad Junaid; Gür, Cemil Hakan (2021-05-01)
P91 steel has been a highly researched material because of its applicability for high-temperature applications. Considerable efforts have been made to produce experimental creep data and develop models for creep life prediction. As creep tests are expensive and difficult to conduct, it is vital to develop authenticated empirical methods from experimental results that can be utilized for better understanding of creep behavior and can be incorporated into computational models for reliable prediction of creep ...

An Accurate modeling approach for calculating the vibration characteristics of steel framed structures with semi rigid connections
Özel, Halil Fırat; Sarıtaş, Afşin (null; 2015-07-01)
Vibration characteristics of steel framed structures are affected by the presence of semi-rigid connections. In this study, a mixed formulation frame finite element is developed from force method, where the variational form of the element bases on the use of three-fields Hu-Washizu-Barr principle. Consistent mass matrix of the element is obtained such that determination of vibration frequencies of members with varying geometry and material distribution as well as the presence of semi-rigid connections at an...
An Interactive Approach To Design Parameter Optimization Considering Response Surface Prediction Errors
Özateş, Melis; Köksal, Gülser; Köksalan, Mustafa Murat (null; 2016-11-15)
An interactive approach is presented for finding parameter settings of a product or process design that allows achieving targets for two responses as well as robustness. The approach utilizes response surface models and it allows the decision maker to consider magnitude of prediction errors in choosing the design solution.
