A temperature-concentration (T-X) phase diagram calculated using the mean field theory for liquid crystals
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit; KARACALİ, HUSEYİN (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2013-06-01)
Phase-line equations for smectic-hexatic phase transitions in liquid crystals were derived using the Landau phenomenological theory. In particular, second-order transitions for the smectic-A-smectic-C (SmA-SmC) and hexatic-B-hexatic-F (or HexI) transitions were studied and the tricritical points for these transitions were located. The calculated phase-line equations were fitted (using experimental data for various liquid crystals) to construct a generalized T-X phase diagram. It was shown that the T-X phase...
A composite biostratigraphy (mainly calpionellids and foraminifera) of the Upper Jurassic–Lower Cretaceous Carbonates in Sivrihisar region (Pontides, NW Turkey): Delineation of the J-K boundary in a slope environment
Atasoy, Serdar Görkem; Altıner, Demir (2017-10-08)
A 748 m thick stratigraphical section was measured along the Upper Jurassic – LowerCretaceous carbonate sequence exposed in a tectonic klippe of the Sakarya Zone(Pontides), north of Sivrihisar. According to the biozonation and microfacies types, twocoeval but dissimiliar rock successions, separated by a thrust fault, have been detected. Thelower succession displays a slope to basin facies and consists of the Kimmeridgian–Berriasian Yosunlukbayırı Formation and the overlying Valanginian Soğukçam Limestone.Th...
A phase diagram for the ice VI-VII-VIII transitions
Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (1998-04-01)
In this study we obtain the P-T phase diagram for the ice VI-VII-VIII phase transitions by means of the mean held model developed here. We have fitted the experimentally measured P-T data to our phase Line equations. Our calculated phase diagram describes adequately the observed behavior of the ice VI-VII-VIII phase transitions.
A phase diagram near the NAC point in liquid crystals
Salihoglu, S; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit; Enginer, Y (2002-07-01)
In this study using a mean field model we obtain the phase line equations for the NA. NC and AC transitions near the NAC point in a mixture of liquid crystals. We then fit these phase line equations to the experimental data. This fitting shows that our theoretical phase diagram predicts the correct experimental behaviour of the phase diagram in a mixture of liquid crystals.
A phase diagram near the NAC* point in liquid crystals
Salihoglu, S; Tublek, A; Yurtseven, Hasan Hamit (Informa UK Limited, 2000-01-01)
Wt study here a mean field model to obtain the phase diagram (concentration versus temperature) near the NAC* point in a binary mixture of liquid crystal. Wr have Fitted our phase line equations to the experimental data for the mixture of SCE9 + SCE10 liquid crystals. We deduce fi om our analysis that there should exist a tricritical point close to the NAC* point on the AC* phase line.
