Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is a measure to assess the underlying reasons about the use of a technology. In this study an extended version of TAM were used. This extended version composed of three factors. These are “perceived motivation towards learning environment”, “perceived usefulness” and “perceived ease of use”. In this study, the learning environment of a distance course was investigated to see students’ perceptions. This distance course was delivered from one university to the other university via video-conferencing with ITL Learning Gateway content management system during the whole semester. The participants were the 32 first year vocational higher education institution students. The descriptive findings revealed that each factor of TAM perceived by students as having moderate advantages. It is believed that the underlying reason of this situation was based on the students’ low computer competency and e-learning experiences.

Technology acceptance: a meta-analysis of the theoretical models
Sevim, Anıl; Özkan Yıldırım, Sevgi; Department of Information Systems (2015)
Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) has been among the most pervasive models which attempted to elucidate the dynamics of technology acceptance. The constructs of both TAM and its operative successors including TAM2, TAM3 and UTAUT (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) have been tested through several primary studies, however, the question is that there exists a limited number of secondary studies which aim the assessment of construct relationship variation among those primary studies. Through ...

The aim of this study is to construct a technology model, named as Online Learning Technology Engagement Model (OLTEM), to enhance our understanding in the adoption of an online learning technology. The study suggests a model covering the theoretical background of underlying motivational processes for technology engagement of students. The sample of the study are 533 students from 4 public universities in Turkey. The constructed model is validated through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural eq...
Toward an understanding of acceptance of electronic performance support systems : what drives users' perceptions regarding usefulness and ease of use?
Şumuer, Evren; Yıldırım, İbrahim Soner; Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology (2012)
This study aimed to explain and understand the acceptance of the Electronic Performance Support System (EPSS) on the basis of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This mixed methods research study was conducted within the Crime Scene Investigation and Identification Units of the Turkish National Police. The quantitative data were collected from 209 police officers with a questionnaire to test the hypothesized relationships in TAM. At the same time, the qualitative data were collected through interviews wi...
