Fe3+/SeO42- dual doped nano hydroxyapatite: A novel material for biomedical applications
ALSHEMARY, AMMAR ZEIDAN GHAILAN; Pazarçeviren, Ahmet Engin; Tezcaner, Ayşen; Evis, Zafer (2018-01-01)
Dual ions substituted hydroxyapatite (HA) received attention from scientists and researchers in the biomedical field owing to their excellent biological properties. This paper presents a novel biomaterial, which holds potential for bone tissue applications. Herein, we have successfully incorporated ferric (Fe3+)/selenate ( SeO42-) ions into the HA structure (Ca10-x-yFey(PO4)(6-x)(SeO4)(x)(OH)(2-x-y)O-y) (Fe-SeHA) through a microwave refluxing process. The Fe-SeHA materials were characterized by X-ray diffra...
Fe-, Ni- and Co-induced crystallization of ge thin films fabricated on different substrates for photovoltaic applications
Kabaçelik, İsmail; Kulakcı, Mustafa; Turan, Raşit (null; 2018-07-06)
Metal-induced (Fe-, Ni- and Co-) crystallization of amorphous germanium (a-Ge) thin films were investigated by depositing Ge on c-Si (100) and glass substrates by means of electron beam evaporation. The samples were exposed to post-annealing temperatures of 300, 400 and 500 o C for 1 hour (h). The crystal structure of the Ge films was characterized with a Raman spectrum and X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements. The Raman spectrum of the samples as-deposited and annealed at a temperature of 300 °C gives broa...
Fe(H2O)(2)BP2O8 center dot H2O, a first zeotype ferriborophosphate with chiral tetrahedral framework topology
Yılmaz, Ayşen; Bu, XH; Kizilyalli, M; Stucky, GD (2000-11-01)
Fe(H2O)(2)BP2O8.H2O, an ordered. zeotype hydrated ferriborophosphate, was synthesized by a mild hydrothermal method. Its structure was characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction which has ordered, alternating, vertex-sharing BO4, PO4, and FeO4(H2O)(2) groups.
Sol-Gel processing of organically modified ITO thin films and characterization of their optoelectronic and microstructural properties
Kesim, Mehmet Tümerkan; Durucan, Caner; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2012)
Indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films were formed on glass substrates by sol-gel method. Coating sols were prepared using indium chloride tetrahydrate (InCl3•4H2O) and tin-chloride pentahydrate (SnCl4•5H2O) stabilized in organic solvents (acetylacetone and ethanol). First attempt was to synthesize ITO thin films using standard/unmodified coating sols. The effect of calcination treatment in air (300 – 600 °C) and number of coating layer(s) (1, 4, 7 or 10) on optoelectronic properties (electrical conductivity and...
Nickel diffusion coating on austenitic stainless steels & its effect on stress corrosion cracking
Ögel, Bilgehan (1999-04-01)
The effect of electrolytic and electroless nickel diffusion coatings was studied on stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of AISI 304 anstenitic stainless steel. The nickel coating was diffused at the annealing temperature range of AISI 304 steel. It was observed that the diffusion process improves adhesion of the coating to the substrate. The electrolytic Ni-coated and diffused 304 samples showed better resistance to SCC (ASTM G 36-87), when compared to plain AISI 304, 316 and 321 stainless steels. No f...
