Real-time detection and tracking of human eyes in video sequences
Savaş, Zafer; Halıcı, Uğur; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2005)
Robust, non-intrusive human eye detection problem has been a fundamental and challenging problem for computer vision area. Not only it is a problem of its own, it can be used to ease the problem of finding the locations of other facial features for recognition tasks and human-computer interaction purposes as well. Many previous works have the capability of determining the locations of the human eyes but the main task in this thesis is not only a vision system with eye detection capability; Our aim is to des...

Real-Time Moving Target Evaluation Search
Undeger, Cagatay; Polat, Faruk (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), 2009-05-01)
In this correspondence, we address the problem of real-time moving target search in dynamic and partially observable environments, and propose an algorithm called real-time moving target evaluation search (MTES). MTES is able to detect the closed directions around the agent and determines the estimated best direction to capture a moving target avoiding the obstacles nearby. We have also developed a new prey algorithm (Prey-A*) to test the existing and our predator algorithms in our experiments. We have obta...
Real-time simulation of soil–tool interaction using advanced soil models
Gürbüz, Mücahit; Pekcan, Onur; Department of Civil Engineering (2019)
Excavation work is one of the main elements needed in construction fields. To meet such a huge demand, a large number of excavators are working all over the globe. In addition, researchers and companies put enormous efforts to develop more efficient excavator models. With the advancement of technology, autonomous systems have become popular and ideal way to upgrade machines for faster, cheaper and safer production. Not surprisingly, there have been many attempts to develop fully autonomous robotic excavatio...
Real exchange rates and job flows: evidence from Turkey
Dogan, Ergun; İslam, Muhammed Qamarul; Yazici, Mehmet (2018-01-01)
This study investigates the effects of the real exchange rate on job flows in Turkish manufacturing industries between 2006 and 2015 using data at the four-digit NACE Revision 2 level. Using dynamic panel data models, we find that a real appreciation increases gross and net job creation rates, and that the effect of appreciation is magnified as the exposure to international competitiveness of industries increases. We think that this is because Turkish manufacturing firms import a greater share of their inpu...
