Correlation of Deformation Demands with Ground Motion Intensity
Yakut, Ahmet (American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), 2008-12-01)
A comprehensive study has been carried out to investigate the correlation between maximum interstory drift demand of frame structures and a number of widely used ground motion intensity parameters. Nonlinear time-history analyses of 16 reinforced concrete frames were performed under a set of 80 ground motion records. The frames were selected to represent features of typical low- to mid-rise reinforced concrete structures. The records contained in the ground motion database were compiled from recorded ground...
Correlation of deformation demands with ground motion intensity
Yılmaz, Hazım; Yakut, Ahmet; Department of Civil Engineering (2007)
A comprehensive study has been carried out to investigate the correlation between deformation demands of frame structures and a number of widely cited ground motion intensity parameters. Nonlinear response history analyses of single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) and multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) models derived from sixteen reinforced concrete frames were carried out under a set of eighty ground motion records. The frames were selected to portray features of typical low-to-mid rise reinforced concrete structures...
CORRELATION OF THE ANODIC PEAK POTENTIALS WITH THE QUANTUM-MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF VARIOUS VINYL COMPOUNDS
YILMAZ, H; Toppare, Levent Kamil; YURTSEVER, E (Elsevier BV, 1987-11-25)
The anodic peak potentials, Ep,a of various vinyl compounds were measured by cyclic voltammetry. The measurements were made in the acetonitrile-tetrabutylammonium fluoroborate system versus a Ag0Ag+ (0.01 M) reference electrode. The measured potentials were correlated to π-orbital energies and bond orders calculated by semi-empirical SCF MO methods. A linear correlation was obtained.

Correlation of powder factor with physical rock properties and rotary drill performance in Turkish surface coal mines
MÜFTÜOĞLU, YADİKAR VASFİ; PAŞAMEHMETOĞLU, AHMET GÜNHAN; Karpuz, Celal (1991-09-19)
This paper is based on a nation wide research project carried out with the aim of investigating diggability, drillability and blastability of overburden strata in many producing surface coal mines in Tuerkiye. It reports data on blasting practice derived from various case studies. Correlation of powder factors used for overburden preparation with physical properties of many different types of rock masses were investigated. The correlations observed between powder factor and uniaxial compressive strength, te...
