As a result of the analysis of the data obtained in the study, a total of 52 suitable metaphors were obtained for the expected self, and a total of 53 suitable metaphors were obtained for the feared self. It was seen that the most frequent metaphors of the possible selves are the "sea" and the "mirror". As a result of the analyses, the following categories were obtained according to the number of metaphors included in the expected self: "comforting, solving problems, giving guidance, raising awareness, accepting unconditionally and developing oneself". Under these categories, it appears that the category with the most metaphors is "comforting". The most frequent recurring metaphors regarding the feared self are "needles" and "walls". The categories obtained for the number of metaphors included in the fearful self are respectively presented as follows: "ineffective, harmful, judging, exhausted, non-progressive, cold and authoritarian". The category with the most metaphors (in number) among the other categories is the "ineffective" category.

Çalışmaya katılan 767 lisans öğrencisinin 392’si kadın, 375’i erkektir. Veriler, Kendini Sabotaj Ölçeği, Rosenberg Öz Saygı Ölçeği, Öz Anlayış Ölçeği ve Akademik Özyeterlilik Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Öz saygı, öz anlayış ve akademik özyeterlilik değişkenlerinin, kendini engelleme değişkenini yordama gücünü bulmak amacıyla hiyerarşik regresyon analizi yapılmıştır...

Computer assisted analysis of flow over spillway chutes
Kıranoğlu, Meriç; Yanmaz, A. Melih.; Department of Civil Engineering (2019)
In this study, a literature review is conducted in terms of assumptions, approaches, and various calculation methods used for the analysis of flow over conventional and stepped type spillways. In guidance of this review, a software is developed to perform such analyses with the set of given data by the user, and display results with some tables and figures. To this end, water surface profile over the spillway face is determined considering air entrainment process, pressure distribution over the crest under ...

Özaytabak, Emel; Bulut, Safure; Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education (2004)
The purpose of this study was to examine the factors affecting preservice mathematics teachers̕ decisions on probability teaching. The sample of the study was 248 preservice mathematics teachers from Gazi University, Hacettepe University, and Middle East Technical University. According to the gender the number of females and males were 170 and 78 respectively. To obtain necessary data for the study, the following measuring instruments were used: (1) Probability Achievement Test (PAT); (2) Probability Miscon...
Analysis Of Interprovincial Service Flows For The Determination Of Provincial Hierarchy In Turkey
Berkman, Gülden (Middle East Technical University, Faculty of Architecture, 1976)
In this study, the analysis of interprovincial service flows -which is treated as complementary to the analysis of interprovincial commodity flows- will be presented. Thus, the resulting optimum distribution system can formulate the interprovincial, spatial hierarchical pattern. To give the interrelationships as a whole, the analysis will be carried out at the province scale, each province being considered a region. The method of Boudeville is resorted to for the computation of service flows. However, a dis...
