Water level and submerged macrophytes are critical players for the functioning of shallow lake ecosystems; understanding how waterbird communities respond to changes in both can have important implications for conservation and management. Here, we evaluated the effects of changes in water level and submerged macrophyte status on wintering waterbird community size, functional group abundances, functional diversity (FD), and community assembly by using a dataset compiled over 50 years.
Changes in plant-herbivore network structure and robustness along land-use intensity gradients in grasslands and forests

Land-use intensification poses major threats to biodiversity, such as to insect herbivore communities. The stability of these communities depends on interactions linking herbivores and host plants. How interaction network structure begets robustness, and thus stability, in different ecosystems and how network structure and robustness are altered along land-use intensity gradients are unclear. We analyzed plant-herbivore networks based on literature-derived interactions and long-term sampling from 289 grassl...

Changes in Early Childhood Teachers' Assessment Practices: Positioning Pedagogical Documentation
BULDU, ELIF; Olgan, Refika (2021-01-01)
Collecting traces of children's learning story through pedagogical documentation (PD) has increasingly been acknowledged in early childhood education because it helps to make decisions about development of child-centered curriculum. However, there is still a lack of attention on creating child-centered assessment practices in different educational contexts. This study, therefore, aimed to investigate how PD implications were changed in Turkish early childhood teachers' assessment practices after participati...
