CHANGES IN GLOBAL TRADE PATTERNS AND WOMEN'S EMPLOYMENT IN MANUFACTURING, 1995-2011

This study investigates the feminization and defeminization trends in manufacturing employment in thirty countries from 1995 to 2011. Utilizing two separate methods, structural decomposition analysis (SDA) and factor content analysis (FCA), the study identifies the major industries and trade partners behind the structural shifts in trade that have induced changes in employment and thus in the rates of women's employment. The findings highlight that, as a general trend, defeminization in manufacturing has pe...
Changes in functional composition and diversity of waterbirds: The roles of water level and submerged macrophytes
Özgencil, İbrahim Kaan; Beklioğlu, Meryem; Özkan, Korhan; TAVŞANOĞLU, ÇAĞATAY; Fattorini, Niccolo (2020-06-02)
Water level and submerged macrophytes are critical players for the functioning of shallow lake ecosystems; understanding how waterbird communities respond to changes in both can have important implications for conservation and management. Here, we evaluated the effects of changes in water level and submerged macrophyte status on wintering waterbird community size, functional group abundances, functional diversity (FD), and community assembly by using a dataset compiled over 50 years.
