Foucault, sexuality, and an epistemico-ontological ground for resistance
Karademir, Aret; Bağçe, Samet; Department of Philosophy (2009)
Michel Foucault characterizes power as ubiquitous and productive in the sense that there is no power-free truth, subject, and knowledge. Moreover, he studies the historical conditions of truth and subject to have an existence in a way that he historicizes them rather than delineating truth as corresponding to reality and subject as a self-subsistent and ahistorical substance. In this respect, his anti-essentialist account of power, truth, and subject is criticized on the account that he excludes the possibi...
Foucault ve Cinsellik Deney(im)i Kurgusu
Novel molecular building blocks based on bodipy chromophore: applications in metallosupramolecular polymers and ion sensing
Büyükçakır, Onur; Akkaya, Engin Umut; Department of Chemistry (2008)
We have designed and synthesized boradiazaindacene (BODIPY) derivatives, appropriately functionalized for metal ion mediated supramolecular polymerization. Thus, ligands for 2- and 2,6-terpyridyl and bipyridyl functionalized BODIPY dyes were synthesized through Sonogashira couplings. These new fluorescent building blocks are responsive to metal ions in a stoichiometry dependent manner. Octahedral coordinating metal ions such as Zn(II), result in polymerization at a stoichiometry which corresponds to two ter...
On nonlinearity and hamming weight preserving bijective mappings acting on boolean functions
Sertkaya, İsa; Doğanaksoy, Ali; Department of Cryptography (2014)
Boolean functions are widely studied in cryptography due to their key role and ap- plications in various cryptographic schemes. Particularly in order to make symmetric crypto-systems resistant against cryptanalytic attacks, Boolean functions are associ- ated some cryptographic design criteria. As a result of Shannon’s similarity of secrecy systems theory, cryptographic design criteria should be at least preserved under the action of basic transformations. Among these design criteria, Meier and Staffelbach a...
