The name Baudiella is proposed for a new ozawainellid fusuline genus characterized by the presence of septal folds in the mature stage of spirally coiled test. Baudiella evolved directly from Reichelina in the early Changxiangian (Late Permian) and constitutes a different lineage within the evolution of the parareichelinin stock.

Danielita gailloti n.gen., n. sp., within the Evolutionary Framework of Middle-Late Permian Dagmaritins
Altıner, Demir; Altıner, Sevinç (2010-01-01)
The name Danielita is proposed for a new dagmaritin genus characterized by a biserial arrangement of chambers with spine-like extensions at chamber corners and a perforated wall. Danielita differs from Dagmarita, from which it was derived, by a perforated wall and constitutes one of the peculiar evolutionary trends of the dagmaritin stock. Early dagmaritins evolved from Globivalvulina cyprica by the appearance of Sengoerina in the Capitanian and the frequently encountered association G. cyprica-Sengoerina-D...
A comparative genetic analysis of the subterranean termite genus Reticulitermes (Isoptera : Rhinotermitidae)
Austin, JW; Szalanski, AL; Uva, P; Bagneres, AG; Kence, Aykut (Oxford University Press (OUP), 2002-11-01)
DNA sequencing analysis of the mitochondrial DNA cytochrome oxidase H (COII) region was used to examine genetic variation in the termite genus Reticulitermes Holmgren. We examined 21 species and subspecies from three continents. Sequencing of a 677-bp region of a 780-bp amplicon from 41 individuals and from 17 sequences obtained from GenBank revealed 221 polymorphic sites within the genus. Tajima-Nei distances from species ranged from 0.9 to 12.7%, and parsimony and maximum likelihood analysis revealed seve...
Sengoerina argandi, n. gen., n. sp., and its position in the evolution of Late Permian biseriamminid foraminifers
Altıner, Demir (JSTOR, 1999-06-01)
The name Sengoerina is proposed for a new biseriamminid genus characterized by a coiled stage of initially globular to progressively angular, biserial chambers followed by an uncoiled stage of angular, biserial chambers. Unlike Dagmarita, it has a distinct coiled stage and lacks spine-like projections at the outer margins of the chambers. Sengoerina constitutes the root stock of the angular-chambered, dagmaritin-type biseriamminids which evolved from the globivalvulines in the Late Permian.
Pollen morphology of some taxa of Vicia L. subgenus Vicilla (Schur) Rouy (Fabaceae) from Turkey
Binzat, Okan Kaan; KAHRAMAN, AHMET; Doğan, Musa (2014-10-01)
The pollen morphology of the ten taxa belonging to Cassubicae Radzhi, Cracca Dumort., Ervilia (Link) Koch, Lentopsis Kupicha, Trigonellopsis Rech. f. and Variegatae Radzhi sections of the genus Vicia L. subgenus Vicilla (Schur) Rouy (Fabeae, Fabaceae) in Turkey has been examined by use of light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Twelve morphometric characters are analysed with one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's honestly significant difference test for multiple comparisons. Polar axis and equ...
Pollen morphology of the genus Lamium L. (Lamiaceae) and its systematic implications
Atalay, Zeynep; CELEP, FERHAT; BİLGİLİ, BİLGEHAN; Doğan, Musa (2016-01-01)
This is the first comprehensive palynological investigation of the genus Lamium. The pollen morphology of 48 taxa (including species, subspecies and varieties) of the genus Lamium was investigated and documented using light microscopy (LM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Lamium pollen is small to medium sized (I) = 21.65-39.96 mu m), oblate-spheroidal to subprolate in shape and tricolpate. Three major exine sculpturing patterns (reticulate, granulate and microreticulate) were observed. The results i...
