The purpose of this study is to establish the opinions of ninth grade students' about Multiple Intelligences based instruction in physics lessons. For this reason, Multiple Intelligences Inventory and Students Opinions Questionnaire (ÖGA) were used as instruments. Beside this, teachers Opinions Questionnaire was also prepared to get two teachers opinions contributed in this study. This study was conducted with 148 ninth grade public high school students in Sincan. Students were grouped based on MI inventory...
The effects of multiple representations-based instruction on seventh grade students' algebra performance, attitude towards mathematics, and representation preference.
Çıkla Akkuş, Oylum; Çakıroğlu, Erdinç; Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education (2004)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of multiple representations-based instruction on seventh grade students̕ algebra performance, attitudes toward mathematics, and representation preference compared to the conventional teaching. Moreover, it was aimed to find out how students use multiple representations in algebraic situations and the reasons of preferring certain modes of representations. The study was conducted in four seventh grade classes from two public schools in Ankara in the 20...
The effects of multiple intelligences based instruction on sixth graders' science achievement and attitudes towards science
Akbaş, Aydın; Sancar, Mehmet Tevfik; Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education (2004)
The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of multiple intelligences based instruction on sixth grade students? science achievement, and attitudes towards science. This experimental research was conducted in the 2nd term of 2002 ? 2003 educational year with sixth graders in METU Ankara College Primary School, and lasted for three weeks. A randomly chosen class was assigned to the experimental group and instructed by Multiple Intelligences Science Instruction, and the other randomly chosen class...
The Effect of multiple intelligences based instruction on students's achievement in basic compounds of living organisms concepts and attitude toward biology
Şakir, Tuncay; Geban, Ömer; Department of Secondary Science and Mathematics Education (2013)
The main purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of multiple intelligences based instruction (MIBI) over traditionally designed instruction on ninth grade students’ achievement in the unit of basic compounds of living organisms concepts and attitude toward biology as a school subject. In addition, the effect of gender difference on achievement in the unit and attitudes toward biology were investigated. Students’ science process skills were also investigated. 59 ninth grade students from two d...
