A current mirroring integration based readout circuit for high performance infrared FPA applications
Külah, Haluk; Akın, Tayfun (2003-04-01)
This paper reports a current mirroring integration (CMI) CMOS readout circuit for high-resolution infrared focal plane array (FPA) applications. The circuit uses a feedback structure with current mirrors to provide stable bias voltage across the photodetector diode, while mirroring the diode current to an integration capacitor. The integration capacitor can be placed outside of the unit pixel, reducing the pixel area and allowing to integrate the current on larger capacitance for larger charge storage capac...
A high performance Sigma-Delta readout circuitry for mu g resolution microaccelerometers
Ocak, Ilker E.; Kepenek, Reha; Külah, Haluk; Akın, Tayfun (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2010-08-01)
This paper reports a second order electromechanical sigma-delta readout for micro-g resolution accelerometers in addition to other high-sensitivity capacitive microsensors with large base capacitance. The chip implements a switched-capacitor readout front-end and an oversampled sigma-delta modulator, and hence can be used for both open-loop analog readout and closed-loop control and readout with direct digital output. The readout circuit has more than 115 dB dynamic range and can resolve less than 3 aF/root...
A readout circuit for QWIP infrared detector arrays using current mirroring integration
Tepegoz, M; Akın, Tayfun (2003-09-18)
This paper reports a current mirroring integration (CMI) CMOS readout circuit for high-resolution Quantum Well Infrared Photodetectors (QWIPs). The circuit uses a feedback structure with current mirrors to provide stable bias voltage across the photodetectors, which can be adjusted between 0 V and 3.5V. The photodetector current is mirrored to an integration capacitor which can be placed outside of the unit pixel, reducing the pixel area and allowing to integrate the current on larger capacitances for large...
A wideband electromagnetic micro power generator for wireless microsystems
Sari, Ibrahim; Balkan, Tuna; Külah, Haluk (2007-06-14)
This paper presents a wideband electromagnetic (EM) vibration-to-electrical power generator which can efficiently scavenge energy and generate steady power over a predetermined frequency range. Power is generated by means of electromagnetic induction using a magnet and coils on top of resonating cantilever beams. The reported generator covers a wide band of external vibration frequency by implementing a number of serially connected cantilevers in different lengths. The device generates 0.5 mu W continuous p...
A dual modality system for high resolution-true conductivity imaging
Eyüboğlu, Behçet Murat; İder, Yusuf Ziya (2001-06-01)
In this study, a dual modality imaging system which utilises the magnetic flux density measurements, acquired using Magnetic Resonance Current Density Imaging (MRCDI) techniques, and the surface potential measurements, obtained from conventional Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) techniques, to reconstruct high resolution absolute conductivity images. An iterative algorithm is developed to minimise the difference between the current densities calculated based on the potential and the magnetic field measu...
