Recently, low frequency (LF) magnetic resonance electrical conductivity imaging by means of oscillating gradient fields is reported to be infeasible. In thesestudies, LF phase measurements are modeled with radio frequency (RF) leakage due to geometric shifts in MR images. Although RF leakage is related withconductivity, we have not come across a conductivity image reconstructed using this model. In this study, LF conductivity imaging is evaluated for an MRIpulse sequence including multiple gradient pulses. Geometric shifts are evaluated by focusing on the MR magnitude. A procedure is proposed for thereconstruction of conductivity, based on LF phase measurements. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 7.5px Helvetica}

Diffusion tensor-magnetic resonance electrical impedance tomography (DT-MREIT) is an imaging modality to obtain low-frequency anisotropic conductivity distribution employing diffusion tensor imaging and MREIT techniques. DT-MREIT is based on the linear relationship between the conductivity and water self-diffusion tensors in a porous medium, like the brain white matter. Several DT-MREIT studies in the literature provide cross-sectional anisotropic conductivity images of tissue phantoms, canine brain, and th...
Low frequency flickering of TT Arietis: Hard and soft X-ray emission region
Baykal, Altan (1997-01-01)
Using archival ASCA observations of TT Arietis, X-ray energy spectra and power spectra of the intensity time series are presented for the first time. The energy spectra are well-fitted by a two continuum plasma emission model with temperatures similar to 1 keV and similar to 10 keV. A coherent feature at similar to 0.643 mHz appeared in the power spectra during the observation.
Single Current Diffusion Tensor Magnetic Resonance Electrical Impedance Tomography: A Simulation Study
Sadighi, Mehdi; Şişman, Mert; Açıkgöz, Berk Can; Eyüboğlu, Behçet Murat (2020-08-08)
Diffusion Tensor Magnetic Resonance Electrical Impedance Tomography (DT-MREIT) is an imaging technique providing low-frequency conductivity tensor images. In all DT-MREIT applications in the literature two linearly independent current injection patterns are used to reconstruct the extra-cellular conductivity and diffusivity ratio () which is the space-dependent scale factor between and in a porous medium. In this study, a new approach is proposed to reconstruct using only one current injection pattern. The ...
Low temperature operation of APD for quantum cryptographic applications
Kale, Zuhal; Ergül, Rüyal; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2005)
This thesis explains low temperature operation of an InGaAs Avalanche Photo Diode (APD) cooled using thermoelectric coolers in order to utilize in the quantum cryptographic applications. A theoretical background for the equipment used in the experiment was provided. Circuitry and mechanics used for the low temperature operation were designed. Performance measures for APD were explained and experiment results were presented.
Low-cost bandpass filter for terahertz applications
Takan, Taylan; Keskin, Hakan; Altan, Hakan (2015-04-01)
Compared to the visible and infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, development of optical components in the terahertz region has progressed slowly even though the feature size of structures makes many of them easily attainable by many conventional manufacturing techniques. Of these, the performance of components with machined metal surfaces, such as filters, typically has suffered from the errors and inconsistencies in the manufacturing which has led many to manufacture these using more expensive...
