In this study, colloidal LiFePO4 particles were synthesized through solvothermal route. Effect of solvothermal method parameters on formation of colloidal LiFePO4 was investigated. Post-processing treatments were found effective to obtain non-aggregated colloidal particles. The rheological behavior of aqueous suspensions including electroactive material was examined in terms of salt, electroactive material concentration and carbon content. A three-electrode systems was used to analyze electrochemical performance of aqueous LiFePO4 suspensions.

Investigation of the effect of substituent on the growth of polymer for 3-substituted polythiophenes via pyrolysis mass spectrometry
Aslan, Evren; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2005-10-15)
In this study, direct pyrolysis mass spectrometry analyses of electrochemically polymerized poly(decanedioic acid bis-(2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl)ester) and poly(terepthalic acid bis-(2-thiophen-3-yl-ethyl)ester) were per-formed to investigate structural and thermal characteristics. It was found that when the ester linkages contain hydrocarbon chains, the growth of polymer occurred through both 2- and 5-positions. On the other hand, when the ester linkages contain more rigid groups such as phenyl, steric hindran...
Investigation of thermoluminescence properties of metal oxide doped lithium triborate
Oezdemir, Zeynep; Yılmaz, Ayşen; Yılmaz, Aysun (2007-10-01)
In this study, lithium triborate (LiB3O5) doped with different metal oxides were investigated to explore its thermoluminescence properties. Solid-state reaction method was employed for the synthesis of the desired materials. The formation of the produced phases was confirmed by Powder X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Infrared (IR), Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) examinations. It was found that, CuO and Al2O3 doped lithium triborate samples exhibit very significant thermol...
Investigation of bioprocess parameters for glucose isomerase production by Bacillus thermoantarcticus
Haykır, Işık; Çalık, Pınar; Department of Chemical Engineering (2007)
In this study, the effects of bioprocess parameters on glucose isomerase roduction by Bacillus thermoantarcticus (DSMZ 9572) were investigated. For his purpose, firstly, in laboratory scale shake-bioreactors, a defined medium was designed in terms of its carbon and nitrogen sources, to achieve the highest glucose isomerase activity. Optimum concentrations of medium components were determined by a statistical approach, namely Response Surface Methodology (RSM). RSM defined the relationship between the respon...
Characterization of extracellular beta-lactamases from penicillin G-resistant cells of Streptococcus thermophilus
Chirica, LC; Güray, Nülüfer Tülün; Gültekin, Güzin Candan; Bozoglu, F (International Association for Food Protection, 1998-07-01)
In this study, biochemical properties of two extracellular beta-lactamases produced by penicillin-resistant Streptococcus thermophilus cells were investigated. Both beta-lactamases showed specificity for penicillins but not for cephaloridins. The p-lactamases exhibited different affinities for penicillin G. The one with the higher molecular weight (F1) had a K(m) value of 3.44 mu M and a V(max), value of 8.33, mu mol/min/mg of protein, whereas the beta-lactamase with the lower molecular weight (FII) had a K...
Exploring the relationship between cytoplasmic ion content variation and multidrug resistance in cancer cells via ion-release based impedance spectroscopy
Demircan Yalçın, Yağmur; Sukas, Sertan; Töral, Taylan Berkin; Gündüz, Ufuk; Külah, Haluk (2019-07-01)
This study aimed to measure and compare the cytoplasmic ion concentrations of the parental cells and their drug resistant progenies. High-level laboratory and clinically-relevant multidrug resistance (MDR) cell line models were developed and investigated for K562 and CCRF-CEM cells, respectively. Measurements were achieved using a modified version of ion release-based impedance spectroscopy (IRbIS), where the average total ion concentration per cell was determined by measuring the variations in solution con...
