With the development of quantum computers that can process much faster than classical com- puters, the classical cryptosystems used today began to be strengthened or replaced with other cryptosystems. Parallel to this aim, studies for faster and more effective use of cryptosystems using coding theory have also increased. In this thesis, coding and decoding of maximum rank distance codes was implemented using programming.

On-demand continuous-variable quantum entanglement source for integrated circuits
Günay, Mehmet; Das, Priyam; Yüce, Emre; Polat, Emre Ozan; Bek, Alpan; Taşgın, Mehmet Emre (2023-01-02)
Integration of devices generating non-classical states (such as entanglement) into photonic circuits is one of the major goals in achieving integrated quantum circuits (IQCs). This is demonstrated successfully in recent decades. Controlling the non-classicality generation in these micron-scale devices is also crucial for the robust operation of the IQCs. Here, we propose a micron-scale quantum entanglement device whose nonlinearity (so the generated non-classicality) can be tuned by several orders of magnit...
Quantum-resistant multivariate quadratic systems and digital signatures
Altundağ, Esen; Cenk, Murat; Department of Cryptography (2019)
In the light of technological advances, scientists expect that quantum computers will be generated and substitute with classical ones, then all symmetric and asymmetric (public-key) cryptosystems will be invalid in the near future. This causes the need for quantum-resistant algorithms all araund the world. That’s why, we have focused on multivariate public-key cryptosystems as a kind of post-quantum cryptography. In order to explain the root idea behind this kind of cryptosystems, as a starting point, the M...
Case studies on the use of neural networks in eutrophication modeling
Karul, C; Soyupak, S; Cilesiz, AF; Akbay, N; Germen, E (2000-10-30)
Artificial neural networks are becoming more and more common to be used in development of prediction models for complex systems as the theory behind them develops and the processing power of computers increase. A three layer Levenberg-Marquardt feedforward learning algorithm was used to model the eutrophication process in three water bodies of Turkey (Keban Dam Reservoir, Mogan and Eymir Lakes). Despite the very complex and peculiar nature of Keban Dam, a relatively good correlation (correlation coefficient...
GENERATING EFFECTIVE INITIATION SETS FOR SUBGOAL-DRIVEN OPTIONS
DEMİR, ALPER; Cilden, Erkin; Polat, Faruk (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2019-03-01)
Options framework is one of the prominent models serving as a basis to improve learning speed by means of temporal abstractions. An option is mainly composed of three elements: initiation set, option's local policy and termination condition. Although various attempts exist that focus on how to derive high-quality termination conditions for a given problem, the impact of initiation set generation is relatively unexplored. In this work, we propose an effective goal-oriented heuristic method to derive useful i...
Experimenting with software testbeds for evaluating new technologies
LINDVALL, Mikael; RUS, Ioana; DONZELLI, Paolo; MEMON, Atif; ZELKOWITZ, Marvin; Betin Can, Aysu; BULTAN, Tevfik; ACKERMANN, Chris; ANDERS, Bettina; ASGARI, Sima; BASILI, Victor; HOCHSTEIN, Lorin; FELLMANN, Joerg; SHULL, Forrest; TVEDT, Roseanne; PECH, Daniel; HIRSCHBACH, Daniel (2007-08-01)
The evolution of a new technology depends upon a good theoretical basis for developing the technology, as well as upon its experimental validation. In order to provide for this experimentation, we have investigated the creation of a software testbed and the feasibility of using the same testbed for experimenting with a broad set of technologies. The testbed is a set of programs, data, and supporting documentation that allows researchers to test their new technology on a standard software platform. An import...
