2D Perovskite Layer based on Novel Organic Cation for Increased Efficiency and Stability

2020-12-02
Low dimensional perovskites have attracted a great attention due to their remarkable stability. However, their efficiencies are not on par with their 3-dimensional counterparts, which hinderstheir commercialization. In this study, we inserted a 2-dimensional perovskite layer using a novelcation (TT), between the 3D perovskite film and the hole transport layer. 3D-2D perovskite devicesfabricated in this study exhibited a performance enhancement, resulting in an increase in theirpower conversion efficiencies (PCE) from 17% to over 19%, by improving hole extraction.Furthermore, devices showed promising stability as a result of hydrophobic nature of the TT-based2D layer. 3D-2D PSCs retained 92% of its initial PCE at 15% humidity for 25 days withoutencapsulation while the reference devices maintained only 39% of its initial efficiency.

Structural and mechanical characterization of scale-up FeCoCrNi, FeCoCrNiCux, AND FeCoCrNiAlx high entropy alloys (HEAs)
Erdal, Ziya Anıl; Kalay, Yunus Eren; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2020)
High entropy alloys (HEAs) have recently attracted much attention due to their unique properties such as high ambient and elevated temperature strengths, hardness, and good structural stability. FeCoCrNi is one of the well-known alloy system with its excellent HEA forming ability. This alloy was previously produced by various methods using high grade pure raw materials. However, there is no scale-up production from industrial raw materials which contain various impurity elements such as Al, Si, and C. In th...
A Review on Nanocomposites with Graphene Based Fillers in Poly(ether ether ketone)
Oz, Yahya; Yilmaz, Bengi; Evis, Zafer (2022-04-01)
In various fields, carbonaceous nanofillers, especially graphene, play a promising role due to their broad area of applications which result from their quite good structural and functional characteristics. This paper reviews the use of graphene as a novel substitution in poly(ether ether ketone (PEEK) as a filler. Moreover, we focused on applications of PEEK/graphene nanocomposites. Furthermore, detailed information about the characterization of the nanocomposites is given. Discussion and analysis of the su...

Göktaş, Ahmet; Gündüz, Güngör; Department of Chemical Engineering (2008)
Nanofibers, which have high surface area to volume ratio and better mechanical properties, are nanomaterials that both industry and scientists have started to show great attention in the last two decades. They are used in many areas such as life and filtration sciences, sensors, and composite reinforcement etc. Among five main production types, electrospinning is the best candidate for further development with a wide range of opportunities to be applied to all types of polymers and ceramics. This method use...
Design, Production and Characterization of AlTiVMnSix(x=0.25, 0.50) Low Density High Entropy Alloys(LDHEAs)
Polat, Gökhan; Erdal, Anıl; Kalay, Yunus Eren (null; 2018-11-25)
Recently, there has been a great attention on HEAs to obtain robust mechanical, magnetic and thermal properties. However, there are limited studies on low density high entropy alloys (LDHEA) due to difficulty to produce such alloys with single or dual solid solution phases from low density elements. The development of LDHEA particularly for industrial applications is one of the challenge in this field. In the present study, HEA ability of low density elements are studied in details. In this manner, light we...
Characterization of gan transistors and developmentof bi-directional dc/dc converter with half-bridgehaving short circuit protection for parallel switches
Karakaya, Furkan; Keysan, Ozan; Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (2020-9)
Wide band-gap semiconductors are superior to Si-based semiconductors with their increased electron mobility and breakdown strength which leads to small package sizes, low parasitics, and increased switching frequency capability. Efficient and dense power converter could be obtained with wide band-gap devices especially GaN transistors. This thesis investigates the GaN HEMTs in terms of their characterization and pplication. The gate charge and output capacitance of GaN HEMTs are characterized by designed ex...
