Seasonal changes in the levels of polyaromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs) and organochlorine pesticides in mytilus galloprovincialis along the Turkish coastal black sea.

Seasonal variation of the phytoplankton composition in the northern Levantine Sea
Yücel, Nebil; Uysal, Zahit; Tuğrul, Süleyman (2017-10-13)
Seasonal and spatial distribution of phytoplankton pigment composition in July & Sep 2012 and Mar & May 2013 was studied at five stations in different parts of the northern Levantine Sea from Mersin Bay to Rhodes Gyre. Total chlorophyll a concentrations varied 0.001 – 0.578 mg m-3 during the study. The highest value was measured in cyclonic Rhodes Gyre at 70 meters in Deep Chlorophyll Maximum (DCM). But, concentrations were found less than 0.1 mg m-3 in offshore waters and Rhodes Gyre. Seven phytoplankton g...
Seasonal and spatial variation of bacterial production and abundance in the northern Levantine Sea
YUCEL, N. (National Documentation Centre (EKT), 2017-3-13)
Spatial and temporal heterogeneity in bacterial production and abundance in relation to ambient bio-physicochemical parameters has been investigated in the Levantine Sea. Five stations with different trophic states in an area extending from highly eutrophic Mersin bay to the mesotrophic Rhodes gyre area including the oligotrophic offshore waters were sampled four times. Integrated bacterial production varied between 6.1 and 90.3 g C m(-2) d(-1) with higher rates occurring during September 2012 in offshore w...
Seasonal variation of the monthly efficiencies of thin film PV modules
Özden, Talat; Turan, Raşit; Akınoğlu, Bülent Gültekin (null; 2017-12-04)
Outdoor testing of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules must be carried out at different climates as PV power plants nowadays are installed and continues to be installed in many countries. Present study is outdoor testing results and analyses of 5 thin film modules in Ankara, Turkey. The analyses are carried out using monthly efficiencies of the modules that are derived using the energy yield and input. The average efficiencies of the CIS, CIGS and μc-Si/a-Si thin film modules are. We present the monthly and ave...
Seasonal variations of abundance and live/dead compositions of copepods in Mersin Bay, northeastern Levantine Sea (eastern Mediterranean)
BEŞİKTEPE, ŞENGÜL; Tang, Kam Wing; Mantha, Gopikrishna (2015-01-01)
The seasonality of abundance and live/dead compositions of copepods was studied in the northeastern Mediterranean Sea. Zooplankton, chlorophyll-a, and PO4 sampling was performed on a monthly basis from March 2006 to February 2007 at both a coastal station and an open water station. At the coastal station, high phytoplankton biomass was driven by PO4 input from the Lamas River. On annual average, copepod abundance was 53,075 and 140,227 ind. m(-2) at the coastal and open water stations, respectively. The mos...
