Effect of prolonged heating at 130 degrees C on fatigue crack propagation of 2024 Al alloy in three orientations
Sarioglu, F; Orhaner, FO (Elsevier BV, 1998-06-15)
An AI-Cu alloy 2024 received in T3 condition (cold worked after solutionizing and natural aging) was heated at 130 degrees C for 100 and 1000 h. Fatigue crack growth tests were carried out before and after heating with center cracked tension specimens machined in L-T, T-L and 60 degrees orientations. Fracture surfaces were studied by means of scanning electron microscopy. It was found that the fatigue crack growth rate depends on the test direction in T3 condition. The orientation effect seemed to be lost a...

Electrical activation of implanted phosphorus can be carried out simultaneously with boron dopants at high temperatures or separately at lower temperatures. In this study, we investigate the effect of high and low-temperature annealing processes for dopant activation following the phosphorous implantation process in n-type c-Si. Symmetrically implanted wafers are activated at 875 °C (low temperature) and 1050 °C (high temperature) and subsequently coated with PEC VD SiNx:H. iVoc values of the samples activa...
EFFECT OF ELECTROPLATING PARAMETERS ON "HER" CURRENT DENSITY IN Ni-MoS2 COMPOSITE PLATING
Guler, Ebru Saraloglu; Karakaya, İshak; KONCA, ERKAN (2012-03-15)
Nickel composites with co-deposited insoluble, solid lubricant particles such as MoS2 have been reported to reduce friction. It is known that hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), competes with nickel deposition. The influence of the electroplating parameters and their interaction effects on the peak current density for HER were studied by fractional factorial design. The parameters and their ranges were; MoS2 concentration (0-30 g/l), temperature (30-50 degrees C), pH (2-4) and surfactants (0-1 g/l). Electrod...
Effect of reinforcement surface functionalization on the mechanical properties of nacre-like bulk lamellar composites processed by a hybrid conventional method
Gurbuz, Selen N.; Dericioğlu, Arcan Fehmi (2013-05-01)
Alumina platelet reinforced epoxy matrix composites with an architecture resembling to natural nacre were fabricated by a hybrid conventional method called Hot-press Assisted Slip Casting process (HASC). Correlation between processing parameters, platelet content, platelet orientation and mechanical property enhancement of the fabricated composites was examined. In order to investigate the effect of interfacial compatibility and bonding on the mechanical properties of the fabricated inorganic-organic compos...
