Decomposability of quotients by complex conjugation for rational and Enriques surfaces
Finashin, Sergey (1997-09-02)
The quotients Y = X/conj by the complex conjugation conj:X --> X for complex rational and Enriques surfaces X defined over R are shown to be diffeomorphic to connected sums of <(CP)over bar>(2), whenever the Y are simply connected. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science B.V.
COMMUTATION ANGLE ANALYSIS OF A DOUBLE OUTPUT INDUCTION GENERATOR OPERATING IN SUB-SYNCHRONOUS AND SUPER-SYNCHRONOUS MODES
CADIRCI, I; ERMIS, M (1994-04-14)
A rigourous performance analysis of the double autpt indoction generator system with two controlled convaters hs been carried out including the effects of both the rotor side amvukr’s commutation an& and harmonics as well as the supply side converter’s harmonics. This is achieved by means of the hybrid induction machine model which allows for the changing states of conduction of the rotor side converter’s thyristors. The variations in overlapping angle of the rotor side convertex is obtained for a wide rang...
RELATIVISTIC BURGERS EQUATIONS ON CURVED SPACETIMES. DERIVATION AND FINITE VOLUME APPROXIMATION
Lefloch, Philippe G.; Makhlof, Hasan; Okutmuştur, Baver (2012-01-01)
Within the class of nonlinear hyperbolic balance laws posed on a curved spacetime (endowed with a volume form), we identify a hyperbolic balance law that enjoys the same Lorentz invariance property as the one satisfied by the Euler equations of relativistic compressible fluids. This model is unique up to normalization and converges to the standard inviscid Burgers equation in the limit of infinite light speed. Furthermore, from the Euler system of relativistic compressible flows on a curved background, we d...
