CROSS-SHELF TEMPORAL AND SPATIAL CHANGES IN BACTERIAL AND CYANOBACTERIAL (SYNECHOCOCCUS SP) ASSEMBLAGES IN THE CILICIAN BASIN (NORTHEASTERN MEDITERRANEAN)
Uysal, Zahit (2019-01-01)
Spatial and temporal changes in bacterial and cyanobacterial abundances were studied at three stations in monthly intervals over a period of one year in the Cilician basin shelf waters. Both populations displayed an apparent decrease in abundance with depth except winter during which a homogeneous distribution was achieved due to convectional mixing. Annual average bacterial and cyanobacterial biomass yield of the nearshore shelf station exceeded 1.8, 2.7 and 2.3, 5.4 fold of the middle and offshore station...
Cross-sectional anatomy and geodynamic evolution of the Central Pontide orogenic belt (northern Turkey)
Hippolyte, JC; Espurt, Nikolas; Kaymakcı, Nuretdin; SANĞU, ERCAN; Mueller, C. (2016-01-01)
Geophysical data allowed the construction of a similar to 250-km-long lithospheric-scale balanced cross section of the southern Black Sea margin (Espurt et al. in Lithosphere 6:26-34, 2014). In this paper, we combine structural field data, stratigraphic data, and fault kinematics analyses with the 70-km-long onshore part of the section to reconstruct the geodynamic evolution of the Central Pontide orogen. These data reveal new aspects of the structural evolution of the Pontides since the Early Cretaceous. T...
Cross-factor analysis of software engineering practices versus practitioner demographics: An exploratory study in Turkey
Garousi, Vahid; Coşkunçay, Ahmet; Demirörs, Onur; YAZICI, ALİ (2016-01-01)
Context: Understanding the types of software engineering practices and techniques used in the industry is important. There is a wide spectrum in terms of the types and maturity of software engineering practices conducted in each software team and company. Furthermore, it is important to understand the cross-factor relationship of software engineering practices and practitioner demographics including their companies and projects, e.g., is it the case that practitioners developing software for sectors such as...

Cross-taxon congruence in lake plankton largely independent of environmental gradients
Özkan, Korhan; Davidson, Thomas A; Sondergaard, Martin; Lauridsen, Torben L.; Bjerring, Rikke; Johansson, Liselotte S.; Svenning, Jens-Christian (2014-10-01)
Groups of organisms often have congruent patterns of diversity or community structure due to similar environmental requirements. However, ecological interactions across trophic levels may also promote congruence independent of environmental drivers through selective predation, niche partitioning, or facilitation. We examined congruence between phytoplankton and zooplankton communities using 20 years of monitoring data from 17 Danish lakes, most of which were subject to external nutrient loading reduction af...
