Raman measurement was performed in the range of 50–1000 cm−1 and 11 active vibration modes were defined in the spectrum. The nature of the observed modes was discussed in detail. Optical absorption of the material was investigated utilizing room temperature transmission and reflection experiments in the spectral range of 360–1000 nm. Spectral changes of absorption coefficient, skin depth, refractive index, optical conductivity, and complex dielectric function of PbMoO4 crystals were studied. Absorption coefficient and optical conductivity exhibited strong increment around 3.0 eV with increasing photon energy. Cut-off wavelength was determined to be 390 nm from the skin depth spectrum. Tauc and derivative spectral analyses revealed the presence of direct bandgap with the energy of 3.05 eV. The static refractive index and dielectric constant were estimated as 2.25 and 5.08, respectively, using Wemple–DiDomenico single oscillator model. Urbach energy was calculated to be 0.071 eV from the exponential dependence of absorption coefficient to photon energy. Dielectric constant increased to 5.42 with energy up to 2.60 eV and then it exhibited decreasing behavior. Second energy derivative analysis of imaginary dielectric function resulted in existence of a critical point at 3.19 eV. First- and third-order nonlinear susceptibilities and nonlinear refractive index were found to be 0.32, 1.9 × 10−12 and 31.7 × 10−12 esu, respectively. These results show that the material may be used in UV filter and sensor applications.

Real-time measurement of laser beam characteristics for a waterjet-guided laser machine
Subasi, Levent; Gökler, Mustafa İlhan; Yaman, Ulaş (2022-01-01)
© 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature.Waterjet-guided laser machining is a novel process used for precision cutting and drilling of various materials and geometries. There are many noise factors in the process affecting the laser beam characteristics, namely the effective cutting length and laser power in the waterjet. Although these variables are mainly set by the laser and waterjet parameters, uncontrollable factors result in variations. Pre...
Multiagent Pickup and Delivery for Capacitated Agents
Çilden, Evren; Polat, Faruk (2022-01-01)
© 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.In Multi-Agent Pickup and Delivery (MAPD), multiple robots continuously receive tasks to pick up packages and deliver them to predefined destinations in an automated warehouse. If the capacity of agents is increased, agents can pick up more than one item on their way, which will presumably reduce the time required to accomplish all deliveries–that is, makespan. In this paper, we propose two algorithms for MAPD with Capacities (...
Valorization of Apple Pomace Via Single Cell Oil Production Using Oleaginous Yeast Rhodosporidium toruloides
Tuhanioglu, Arda; Hamamcı, Haluk; Alpas, Hami; Çekmecelioğlu, Deniz (2022-01-01)
© 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V.Apple pomace was used as a sole raw material for single cell oil (SCO) production by the oleaginous yeast Rhodosporidium toruloides DSM 4444. Preliminary studies with glucose medium revealed 100 mL of working volume in 500 mL Erlenmeyer flask as the most efficient in terms of lipid content. Thus, apple pomace hydrolysate was tested in six different conditions using 100 mL medium. The detoxified hydrolysate without chemical supplement (D m...
Tensionless strings and Killing(-Yano) tensors
Lindström, Ulf; Sarıoğlu, Bahtiyar Özgür (2022-06-10)
© 2022 The Author(s)We construct invariants for bosonic and spinning tensionless (null) strings in backgrounds that carry Killing tensors or Killing-Yano tensors of mixed type. This is facilitated by the close relation of these strings to point particles. We apply the construction to the Minkowski and to the Kerr-Newman backgrounds.
Robust multivariate adaptive regression splines under cross-polytope uncertainty: an application in a natural gas market

Therefore, robustification and robust optimization have gained attention from theoretical and practical points of view for the establishment of a modeling framework in mathematical optimization to immunize solutions against diverse uncertainties. Data of both th...
