The effect of anodic polarization on the surface composition of Bi-Ru oxide, Bi2Ru2O7+y, electrodes in acid solution and acid-alcohol solutions has been studied by scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray analysis, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. In acidic solution the surface is unstable under either oxidation or reductive conditions, with Bi being lost from the structure. During electrolysis the surface becomes covered with particles of a Bi oxide species.

Miscibility of methylmethacrylate-co-methacrylic acid polymer with magnesium, zinc, and manganese sulfonated polystyrene ionomers
Alkan, C; Yurtseven, N; Aras, L (2005-01-01)
The miscibility of methyl methacrylate-co-methacrylic acid polymer (MMA-MAA) with metal neutralized sulfonated polystyrene ionomers was investigated by viscometry, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and Fourier transform infrared radiation spectroscopy (FTIR) techniques. Polystyrene (PS) was sulfonated by acetic anhydride and sulfuric acid and the sulfonation degree was found to be 2.6 mole percent, and 2.6 mole percent sulfonated polystyrene was neutralized by Mg, Zn, and Mn salts. The miscibility be...
Hydrothermal and microwave synthesis of boron phosphate, BPO(4)
Baykal, Altan; Toprak, M; Kniep, R (2001-01-01)
BPO4 was previously synthesized by the solid state reactions of (NH4)(2)HPO4 and B2O3 at 1000 degreesC and was characterized by X-ray powder diffraction and IR methods. We have now succeeded in preparing BPO4 from H3BO3 and P2O5 using hydrothermal synthesis by heating at 160 degreesC for 2 days and obtained a single phase product. We observed that a microwave-assisted synthesis takes only 3 to 5 minutes to transform a solid mixture of (NH4)(2)B4O7. 4H(2)O, and solid H3PO4 Or B2O3 + P2O5 into the crystalline...
Quantum chemical calculations of warfarin sodium, warfarin and its metabolites
Tekin, Emine Deniz (Calisir); ERKOÇ, Figen; YILDIZ, İLKAY; Erkoç, Şakir (2008-07-01)
The structural, vibrational and electronic properties of warfarin sodium, warfarin and its metabolites have been investigated theoretically by performing the molecular mechanics (MM+ force field), the semi-empirical self-consistent-field molecular-orbital (AM1), and density functional theory calculations. The geometry of the molecules have been optimized, the vibrational dynamics and the electronic properties of the molecules have been calculated in their ground state in gas phase.
Optical properties of (Ga2Se3)(0.)(75) - (Ga2S3)(0.)(25) single crystals by spectroscopic ellipsometry
Işık, Mehmet; Hasanlı, Nızamı; Gasanova, L. (Elsevier BV, 2019-05-01)
Structural and optical properties of 75 mol % Ga2Se3 - 25 mol % Ga2S3 system of single crystals were investigated by experimental techniques of x-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy and ellipsometry. XRD pattern indicated that the studied compound has crystalline nature with cubic structure. Vibrational modes in the crystal were revealed using Raman spectroscopy experiments in the 90-450 cm(-1) frequency range and nine modes were observed in the spectrum. Ellipsometry m...
Spectroscopic investigation of oxidation of p-toluene sulfonic acid doped polypyrrole
Uyar, Tamer; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Hacaloğlu, Jale (2001-09-04)
Oxidative degradation of electrochemically synthesized p-toluene sulfonic acid doped polypyrrole, PTS-PPY was studied by the application of evolved gas analysis using IR spectroscopy and direct insertion probe pyrolysis mass spectrometry techniques. It has been observed that PPY films prepared in aqueous media contained high concentration of oxygenated species even if the synthesis potential was kept low. The extent of overoxidation associated to ketone formation increased by increasing the applied potentia...
