An automated quality measurement approach for business process models
Gürbüz, Özge; Demirörs, Onur; Güceğlioğlu, A. Selçuk; Department of Information Systems (2011)
Business process modeling has become a common need for organizations. Therefore process quality is also having an important role for the organizations. The most of the quality studies are based on cost and time which can be analyzed during or after the execution of the business processes. There are also quality measures which help analyzing measures before the execution of the business processes. This type of measures can give early feedback about the processes. There are three frameworks defined in the lit...
An evidential reasoning approach for production modeling with deteriorating and ameliorating items
Nodoust, S.; Mirzazadeh, A.; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2020-03-01)
In real situations, it is often too restrictive and difficult for experts to give precise (crisp) assessments for parameters such as inflation. This would become more serious especially for some international exporters or other companies in some pendulous situations. To deal with these situations, this paper develops a dependence-based evidential reasoning approach. This study employs the effects of imperfect production process for deteriorating/ameliorating products, considering inspection in an inflationa...
An additive cost approach to optimal Temporal Logic control
Aydın Göl, Ebru (2014-07-21)
This paper presents a provably-correct Model Predictive Control (MPC) scheme for a discrete-time linear system. The cost is a quadratic that penalizes the distance from desired state and control trajectories, which are only available over a finite horizon. Correctness is specified as a syntactically co-safe Linear Temporal Logic (scLTL) formula over a set of linear predicates in the states of the system. The proposed MPC controller solves a set of convex optimization problems guided by the specification. Th...

An Interactive Approach To Design Parameter Optimization Considering Response Surface Prediction Errors
Özateş, Melis; Köksal, Gülser; Köksalan, Mustafa Murat (null; 2016-11-15)
An interactive approach is presented for finding parameter settings of a product or process design that allows achieving targets for two responses as well as robustness. The approach utilizes response surface models and it allows the decision maker to consider magnitude of prediction errors in choosing the design solution.
