Effect of seeding on the properties of mfi type zeolite membranes
Dinçer, Eser; Kalıpçılar, Halil; Department of Chemical Engineering (2005)
The effect of seeding on the properties of alumina supported MFI membranes was investigated in this study. Membranes were synthesized from clear solutions with a molar batch composition of TPAOH:9.80SiO2:0.025NaOH:0.019Al2O3: 602.27H2O:39.16C2H5OH on bare and seeded alumina supports at 130oC in autoclaves. The amount of seed on the support surface was changed between 0.6 mg/cm2 and 6.9 mg/cm2 by vacuum seeding method, which provided uniform and closely packed seed layers. Membranes were characterized by XRD...
Effect of H2O and SO2 on the activity of Pd/TiO2 catalysts in catalytic reduction of NO with methane in the presence of oxygen
MITOME, Junko; Karakaş, Gürkan; Bryan, Kimberly A.; Ozkan, Umit S. (1998-06-18)
Effect of H2O and SO2 on the NO reduction activity of the Pd/titania catalysts was examined in the NO+CH4+O-2 reaction. Steady-state and transient response experiments were performed using a tubular flow reactor. Isotopically labeled methane, (CH4)-C-13, was used in studying the transient behavior of the catalytic system. Reactor effluents were analyzed by using gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, and chemiluminescense techniques. Steady-state reaction experiments showed that the catalyst has a high acti...

Effect of heat treatment on the photocatalytic activity of alpha-Fe2O3 nanoparticles: towards diclofenac elimination
Mimouni, Ibtihal; Bouzıanı, Asmae; Naciri, Yassine; Boujnah, Mourad; El Belghiti, Mohammed Alaoui; El Azzouzi, Mohammed (2021-09-01)
alpha-Fe2O3 nanoparticles were synthesized via a straightforward method. XRD, FTIR, SEM, ESR, and DRS techniques investigated the influence of various calcination temperatures on the crystal structure, optical, and photocatalytic properties of the samples. The obtained results demonstrated that the average crystallite size increased with the increase in the calcination temperature. Measured and computed optical properties were in accordance and the bandgap energy decreased with the increase in the calcinati...
