Control are the measres taken by the managemnet and other relevant units manage risks and increase the likelihood of achieving the determined goals and objectives. These control processes are generally determined by certain frameworks and one of the most valid frameworks is COSO. Along with the pandemic, the risks that banks may face have partially changed. Therefore, control processes should change against these risks. In this study, it hasbeen shown which COSO component these risks belong to and that there should be a dynamic control process with changing risks.

A solution methodology for the unit commitment problem in traditional-and-wind integrated hybrid power systems under supply/demand uncertainty and emission limitations
Karabaş, Tolga; Meral, Fatma Sedef; Department of Industrial Engineering (2020-9)
Unit commitment problem (UCP) is one of the essential problems in operations planning of power generation systems. The objective is to minimize total operating cost while meeting the forecasted load requirements and satisfying several operational and technical constraints. Nevertheless, the UCP is a mixed integer, non-linear, combinatorial and NP-hard problem, making it difficult to develop any rigorous optimization method for a real-size system. In this thesis, we address two variants of the UCP: (1) the d...
Reconsidering durability of authoritarian regime and possibilities of democratization in Tunisia
Yaşar, Nebahat; Altunışık, Meliha; Department of Middle East Studies (2014)
This thesis analyzes the variables that have impacts on durability and stability of the authoritarian regime in order to examine the possibilities for successful democratic transformations in the context of Tunisia. This thesis chooses Tunisia as a case study since a fascinating example of both durability and vulnerability of authoritarian regimes. From formal independence in 1956 until a constitutional coup in 1987, Tunisia was ruled by a single-party. Due to a set of economic and political crises in the l...
An exact solution method and a genetic algorithm-based approach for the unit commitment problem in conventional power generation systems
Karabaş, Tolga; Meral, Fatma Sedef (2023-02-01)
The unit commitment problem (UCP) is one of the fundamental problems in power systems planning and operations that comprises two decisions: commitment and dispatching of conventional generating units. The objective is to minimize total operating costs -fuel and start-up costs- while satisfying several operational and technical constraints. The UCP is characterized as a highly constrained mixed-integer nonlinear NP-hard problem, which makes it difficult to develop a rigorous optimization method for real-size...
A Qualitative model of the critical success factors for the effectiveness of information systems outsourcing
Uçar, Erkan; Bilgen, Semih; Yöndem, Meltem Turhan; Department of Information Systems (2012)
The objective of this research is to construct a model of the critical success factors for the effectiveness of Information Systems (IS) outsourcing. “Lack of in-house expertise” and “cost effectiveness” are the widely accepted major factors of motivation for IS outsourcing. Although various decision models and analytical frameworks have been proposed before, the literature is not abundant on a complete qualitative model. In contrast with the decision models which are executed before an outsourcing engageme...
Optimization of types, numbers and locations of sensors and actuators used in modal analysis of aircraft structures using genetic algorithm
Pedramasl, Nima; Şahin, Melin; Acar, Erdem; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2017)
Aircraft structures are exposed to dynamic loads under service conditions and therefore, it is necessary to determine their dynamic characteristics. Dynamic characteristics of a structure can be determined using simulation-based methods such as finite element analysis (FEA) or test-based methods such as experimental modal analysis (EMA). In order to perform an EMA with reliable and high quality results, test equipment must be lightweight and have high accuracy. In addition, the sensors and actuators must be...
