The cryptocurrency industry has changed the human life and accelerated financial exchange in this decade. Many investors want to invest in this industry and establish cryptocurrency farms. This research sets up a CryptoCurrency Farm Location (CCFL) as a facility location that supplies energy by Renewable Energy (RE). We presented a new robust optimization with the stochastic approach for tackling uncertainty in CCFL and compared it with stochastic CCFL. Our objective function includes maximizing the mean and minimum profits coefficient under different scenarios by adding an energy-aware constraint. Our model enables us to select supply energy by RE or power network country. The results show that the profit of robust stochastic CCFL is 4.94% less than stochastic CCFL because the proposed model is more conservative. Also, by increasing the conservativity coefficient to 50%, the total profit decreases to 4.94%. In addition, the discount rate grew to 10%, the profit down to 12.31%, and the problem increased profit by increasing the scale. Finally, the probability of scenario is changed and affects to profit function.

Modeling advanced fund transfer pricing with an application of hull-white interest-rate tree in Turkish banking sector
Shakirov, Begzod; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm; Department of Financial Mathematics (2017)
The Financial Crisis in 2008 has revealed the need for a more advanced management of liquidity risk in financial institutions. This thesis aims to introduce and implement an advanced Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP) model into banking industries of the developing countries. The methodology of the FTP model, constructed in this research, measures the cost of a product’s cash-flows by splitting them into a deterministic and a stochastic component. The cost of the deterministic part is assessed as an equivalent of ...
A NEW ROBUST OPTIMIZATION TOOL APPLIED ON FINANCIAL DATA
Ozmen, A.; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm; Karimov, A. (2013-07-01)
Recent financial crises, with an increased volatility and, hence, uncertainty factors, have introduced a high "noise" into the data taken from the financial sectors and overall from any data related to the financial markets, so that the known statistical models do not give trustworthy results. As we know the solutions of the optimization problem can show a remarkable sensitivity to perturbations, coming from the data, in the parameters of the problem. To overcome this kind of difficulties, the model identif...
Term structure of government bond yields : a macro-finance approach
Artam, Halil; Yıldırak, Şahap Kasırga; Department of Financial Mathematics (2006)
Interactions between macroeconomic fundamentals and term structure of interest rates be stronger according to the way of changes in structure of worldwide economy. Combined macro-finance analysis determines the joint dynamics of term structure of interest rates and macroeconomic fundamentals. This thesis provides analysis of two existing macro-finance models and an original one. Parameter estimations for these three macro-finance term structure models are done for monthly Turkish data by use of an efficient...
Asset-backed stable numeraire approach for sustainable valuation
Aydin, Nadi Serhan; Rainer, Martin (2020-05-01)
Interest rates underpin almost every instrument/transaction in conventional financial markets. Valuation of the instruments in relation to interest rates remains meaningful only ifcashcan be attributed a worth of its own (which is generally assumed to accumulate over time). The relevant concepts such as the stochastic short rate and the conventional numeraire (i.e. the money market account) not only become restrictive when one attempts to build more realistic models in quantitative finance, but also - as we...
RMARS: Robustification of multivariate adaptive regression spline under polyhedral uncertainty
Ozmen, Ayse; Weber, Gerhard Wilhelm (Elsevier BV, 2014-03-15)
Since, with increased volatility and further uncertainties, financial crises translated a high "noise" within data from financial markets and economies into the related models, recent years' events in the financial world have led to radically untrustworthy representations of the future. Hence, robustification started to attract more attention in finance. The presence of noise and data uncertainty raises critical problems to be dealt with on the theoretical and computational side. For immunizing against para...
