DETERMINATION OF TRAPPING CENTER PARAMETERS OF Tl2Ga2S3Se LAYERED CRYSTALS BY THERMALLY STIMULATED CURRENT MEASUREMENTS
YILDIRIM, TACETTİN; Nasser, H. A.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (World Scientific Pub Co Pte Lt, 2010-06-10)
We have carried out thermally stimulated current (TSC) measurements on as-grown Tl2Ga2S3Se layered single crystals in the temperature range 10-60 K with different heating rates of 0.6-1.5 K s(1). The data were analyzed by curve fitting, initial rise, and peak shape methods. The results were in good agreement with each other. Experimental evidence was obtained for trapping center in Tl2Ga2S3Se crystal with activation energy of 11 meV. The capture cross section and concentration of the traps were found to be ...

Determination of relations between elastic properties of cement mortars by using destructive and nondestructive methods
Deniz, Saygın; Erdoğan, Sinan Turhan; Department of Civil Engineering (2010)
The measurement and monitoring of the elastic properties of cement-based materials is very important for assessing their quality, integrity and performance. Due to the nonhomogeneous and time-dependent characteristics of these materials, it is difficult to observe the developments in elastic properties with traditional destructive methods. The aim of this thesis is to determine and monitor elastic properties of mortar specimens made with different cements by using resonant frequency and ultrasonic pulse vel...

Determination of the bending twisting coupling potential of composite materials via digital image correlation and its implementation in wind turbine blades
Şener, Özgün; Kayran, Altan; Department of Aerospace Engineering (2017)
In this thesis study, the main objective is to investigate the effect of bending-twisting coupling in composite wind turbine blades on the load alleviation, power generation and structural performance of the wind turbine system. For this purpose, experimental and numerical study is initially conducted to determine the bend-twist coupling potentials of composite materials. Bending-twisting behavior of composite materials are determined through a comparative study via the Digital Image Correlation (DIC) syste...
