Nuclear dissipative dynamics in langevin approach
Tanrıverdi, Vedat; Gökalp, Ahmet; Department of Physics (2004)
In this thesis Langevin approach is applied to analyze the nuclear dissipative dynamics in fission and fusion reactions. In these investigations, the nuclear elongation coordinate and the corresponding momentum are chosen as collective variables. By considering changes in these variables the decay rate of fission and the formation probability of fusion for heavy ion reactions are calculated. These calculations are performed using simulation techniques and the results thus obtained are compared with the corr...
Antineutrino charm production and pentaquark search in the chorus experiment
Köse, Umut; Güler, Ali Murat; Department of Physics (2006)
During the years between 1994 and 1997, the emulsion target of the CHORUS experiment was exposed to the wide band neutrino beam of the CERN SPS of 27 GeV average energy collecting about 106 neutrino interactions. A measurement of induced charm production and search for anticharmed pentaquark ( 0 c ) have been performed by using the presence of a 6% component in the beam. By requiring a positive muon charge as determined by the CHORUS muon spectrometer, 46 -induced charm events were observed with ...
Pion electroproduction in parity violating elastic ep scattering experiment
Ong, S; Rekalo, MP; Van de Wiele, J (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 1999-10-01)
This study has been developed for electron-proton scattering experiments when only the scattered electrons are detected. Pion electroproduction on the proton including the cascade pi(o) --> 2 gamma decay and the QED radiative corrections to elastic ep scattering are investigated. Our results are shown in the kinematical configuration of the parity violating electron scattering experiment planned at the Mainz Microtron (MAMI).
Lepton flavor violation in the two higgs doublet model
Sundu, Hayriye; İltan, Erhan Onur; Department of Physics (2007)
The lepton flavor violating interactions are interesting in the sense that they are sensitive the physics beyond the standard model and they ensure considerable information about the restrictions of the free parameters, with the help of the possible accurate measurements. In this work, we investigate the lepton flavor violating H+ ! W+l and the lepton flavor conserving H+ ! W+l decays in the general two Higgs doublet model and we estimate decay widths of these decays. After that, we analyze lepton flavor vi...
