A search for excited leptons in pp collisions at root s=7 TeV
Chatrchyan, S.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2011-10-01)
A search for excited leptons is carried out with the CMS detector at the LHC, using 36 pb(-1) of pp collision data recorded at root s = 7 TeV. The search is performed for associated production of a lepton and an oppositely charged excited lepton pp -> ll*, followed by the decay l* -> l gamma, resulting in the eey final state, where l = e, mu. No excess of events above the standard model expectation is observed. Interpreting the findings in the context of l* production through four-fermion contact interactio...
A search for pair production of new light bosons decaying into muons in proton-proton collisions at 13 TeV
Sirunyan, A. M.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2019-09-01)
A search for new light bosons decaying into muon pairs is presented using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb(-1) of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy root s = 13 TeV, collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The search is model independent, only requiring the pair production of a new light boson and its subsequent decay to a pair of muons. No significant deviation from the predicted background is observed. A model independent limit is set on the prod...
A search for pair production of new light bosons decaying into muons
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2016-01-01)
A search for the pair production of new light bosons, each decaying into a pair of muons, is performed with the CMS experiment at the LHC, using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.7 fb(-1) collected in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energy of root s = 8 TeV. No excess is observed in the data relative to standard model background expectation and a model independent upper limit on the product of the cross section, branching fraction, and acceptance is derived. The results ar...
An analysis of f(0)-sigma mixing in light cone QCD sum rules
Gokalp, A; Sarac, Y; Yılmaz, Osman (Elsevier BV, 2005-03-10)
We investigate f(0)-sigma mixing in the framework of light cone QCD sum rules and by employing the experimental results about the decay widths and the masses of these scalar mesons we estimate the scalar mixing angle by using sigma meson data and f(0) meson data. The two values we thus obtain of the scalar mixing angle are not entirely consistent with each other, possibly indicating that the structure of these mesons cannot be simple quark-antiquark states.
