An approach of thinning planar phased array antenna by using finite difference method
Cemil, Alper; Demir, Şimşek (2002-08-05)
A new approach for thinning antenna array is presented and application examples are given. From examples, it is inferred that using Finite Difference Method the contribution of the removed array elements can be recovered. This method gives better results for small N and small inter-element spacing.
An Objective-Based Design Approach of Retaining Walls Using Cuckoo Search Algorithm
Tutuş, Eren Burak; Ghalandari, Taher; Pekcan, Onur (null, Springer, 2020-01-01)
In the past two decades, there has been ongoing trend to design retaining walls in an optimal way rather than the conventional trial and-error approach. In this study, reinforced concrete cantilever retaining wall is optimized using the Cuckoo Search (CS) algorithm, a metaheuristic swarm-based method that imitates the reproductive behavior of cuckoo birds. To obtain the optimal solution, design requirements are expressed as constraints to overcome violated solutions. Together with a mathematical definition ...

A method for wafer level hermetic packaging of SOI-MEMS devices with embedded vertical feedthroughs using advanced MEMS process
Torunbalci, Mustafa Mert; Alper, Said Emre; Akın, Tayfun (IOP Publishing, 2015-12-01)
This paper presents a novel, inherently simple, and low-cost fabrication and hermetic packaging method developed for SOI-MEMS devices, where a single SOI wafer is used for the fabrication of MEMS structures as well as vertical feedthroughs, while a single glass cap wafer is used for hermetic encapsulation and routing metallization. Hermetic encapsulation can be achieved either with the silicon-glass anodic or Au-Si eutectic bonding techniques. The dies sealed with anodic and Au-Si eutectic bonding provide a...
An approach to measure trace elements in particles collected on fiber filters using EDXRF
ÖZTÜRK, FATMA; Zararsız, Abdullah; Kırmaz, Rıdvan; Tuncel, Süleyman Gürdal (2011-01-15)
A method developed for analyzes of large number of aerosol samples using Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) and its performance were discussed in this manuscript. Atmospheric aerosol samples evaluated in this study were collected on cellulose fiber (Whatman-41) filters, employing a Hi-Vol sampler, at a monitoring station located on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey. between 1993 and 2001. Approximately 1700 samples were collected in this period. Six-hundred of these samples were analyzed by instru...
