By using Poland̕s receipts from pre-accession financial transfers of EU during its accession negotiations, the study makes expectation about Turkey̕s pre-accession aid. This thesis also attempts to ask the reality of this calculated value by looking at the budgetary situation of EU during Turkey̕s pre-accession period.

Atakuman, Çiğdem (2010-01-01)
Following Bulgaria's and Romania's accession into the European Union, EU expansion has reached its final frontier with the process of Turkey's prospective integration, through which both Europe's and Turkey's respective cultural identities have been under negotiation. From a European perspective, Turkey, with its culture, religion, and pseudo-democracy, may appear seriously to challenge some of the most fundamental values of Europeanness. In fact, the very same argument is being made by Turkish politicians ...

Tanrısever, Nazlı Hezar; Kahraman, Sevilay; Department of European Studies (2015)
This thesis seeks to explore the role of the Europeanization process in Turkey’s regional policy since the Helsinki Summit of the European Union (EU) in 1999 when Turkey was accepted as a candidate country for the membership in the EU. Contrary to the views of some experts who claim that the Europeanization process involves a comprehensive transformation of the institutions and policies of the candidate countries in line with the expectations of the EU, Turkey’s regional policy between 1999 and 2015 demonst...
The Future of EU-Turkey Relations. Mapping Dynamics and Testing Scenarios (FEUTURE)
Eralp, Atilla(2019-3-31)
The EU and Turkey face mounting challenges both in relation to one another and internationally. The EU is confronted with an economic crisis which is likely to make differentiation a growing phenomenon. Turkey faces polarisation between different political forces, the state and civil society. The neighbourhood is unravelling to the east and south and a power shift is under way at global level. This questions the regional roles of Turkey and the EU. Accordingly, FEUTURE – a consortium of 13 experienced univ...
