Temperature and weight loss profiles of model cakes baked in the microwave oven
Şümnü, Servet Gülüm; Bayindirli, L (1999-01-01)
Model cake systems were formulated with wheat and rice starches at hydration levels of 112.5% and 137.5% (flour weight basis) and baked in a microwave oven at power levels of 80% and 100%. Temperature profiles and weight loss profiles of the cakes baked in the microwave oven were compared with those of the cakes baked conventionally. One cake was baked at a time, and three replications of each treatment were used. Center and edge temperatures of microwave cakes increased significantly with increasing moistu...
Temperature and excitation intensity tuned photoluminescence in Ga0.75In0.25Se crystals
Isik, M.; Guler, I.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2013-01-01)
Photoluminescence (PL) spectra of Ga0.75In0.25Se layered single crystals have been studied in the wavelength range of 580-670 nm and temperature range of 7-59 K. Two PL emission bands centered at 613 nm (2.02 eV, A-band) and 623 nm (1.99 eV, B-band) were revealed at T = 7K. The excitation laser intensity dependence of the emission bands have been studied in the 0.06-1.40 W cm(-2) range. Radiative transitions from shallow donor levels located at E-A = 0.11 and E-B = 0.15 eV below the bottom of conduction ban...
Temperature and excitation intensity tuned photoluminescence in Tl4GaIn3S8 layered single crystals
Golksen, K.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Wiley, 2008-05-01)
Photoluminescence spectra of Tl4GaIn3S8 layered crystals grown by Bridgman method have been studied in the wavelength region of 500-780 nm and in the temperature range of 26-130 K with extrinsic excitation source (lambda(exc) = 532 nm), and at T = 26 K with intrinsic excitation source (lambda(exc) = 406 nm). Three emission bands A, B and C centered at 514 nm (2.41 eV), 588 nm (2.11 eV) and 686 nm (1.81 eV), respectively, were observed for extrinsic excitation process. Variations in emission spectra have bee...
Temperature effect on calcium aluminate cement based composite binders
Kırca, Önder; Tokyay, Mustafa; Department of Civil Engineering (2006)
In calcium aluminate cement (CAC) systems the hydration process is different than portland cement (PC) systems. The hydration products of CAC are subjected to conversion depending on temperature, moisture, water-cement ratio, cement content, etc. Consequently, strength of CAC system can be seriously reduced. However, presence of other inorganic binders or additives may alter the hydration process and improve various properties of CAC based composites. The objective of this study is to investigate the temper...
