Neutrino-electron scatterings are purely leptonic processes with robust Standard Model (SM) predictions. Their measurements can therefore provide constraints to physics beyond SM. The νe − e− data taken at the Kuo-Sheng Reactor Neutrino Laboratory were used to probe two sceneria: Non-Standard Neutrino Interactions (NSI) and Unparticle Physics. New constraints were placed to the NSI parameters (εeL , εeR ), (εeL , εeR ) and (εeL , εeR ) , as well as to the coupling constants for scalar (λ0 ) and vector (λ1 ) unparticles to the neutrinos and electrons.

Constraints on nonstandard neutrino interactions and unparticle physics with (v) over bar (e)-e(-) scattering at the Kuo-Sheng nuclear power reactor
Deniz, M.; Bilmiş, Selçuk; Yildirim, I. O.; Li, H. B.; Li, J.; Liao, H. Y.; Lin, C. W.; Lin, S. T.; Serin, Meltem; Singh, V.; Wong, H. T.; Wu, S. C.; Yue, Q.; Zeyrek, Mehmet Tevfik; Zhou, Z. Y. (2010-08-05)
Neutrino-electron scatterings are purely leptonic processes with robust standard model (SM) predictions. Their measurements can therefore provide constraints to physics beyond SM. The (nu) over bar (e) - e data taken at the Kuo-Sheng Reactor Neutrino Laboratory were used to probe two scenarios: nonstandard neutrino interactions (NSI) and unparticle physics. New constraints were placed on the NSI parameters (epsilon(eL)(ee), epsilon(eR)(ee) ), (epsilon(eL)(e mu), epsilon(eR)(e mu)), and (epsilon(eL)(e tau), ...
The electronic band structure of III (in, al, ga)-v (n, as, sb) compounds and ternary alloys
Mohammad, Rezek Mahmoud Salim; Katırcıoğlu, Şenay; Department of Physics (2005)
In this work, the electronic band structure of III (In, Al, Ga) - V (N, As, Sb) compounds and their ternary alloys have been investigated by density functional theory (DFT) within generalized gradient approximation (GGA) and empirical tight binding (ETB) calculations, respectively. The present DFT-GGA calculations have shown direct band gap structures in zinc-blende phase for InN, InAs, InSb, GaN, and GaAs. However, indirect band gap structures have been obtained for cubic AlN, AlSb and AlAs com- pounds; he...
Dualisation of supergravity theories
Yılmaz, Nejat Tevfik; Sarıoğlu, Bahtiyar Özgür; Department of Physics (2004)
By using the Kaluza-Klein reduction, the derivation of the maximal supergravities from the D=11 supergravity theory, as well as the Abelian Yang-Mills supergravities from the D=10 type I supergravity theory are discussed. After a thorough review of the symmetric spaces the symmetric space sigma model is studied in detail. The first-order formulation of both the pure and the matter coupled symmetric space sigma model is presented in a general formalism. The dualisation of the non-gravitational Bosonic sector...
Measurement of spin correlations in tt production using the matrix element method in the muon plus jets final state in pp collisions at root S=8 TeV
Khachatryan, V.; et. al. (Elsevier BV, 2016-07-01)
The consistency of the spin correlation strength in top quark pair production with the standard model (SM) prediction is tested in the muon+jets final state. The events are selected from pp collisions, collected by the CMS detector, at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The data are compared with the expectation for the spin correlation predicted by the SM and with the expectation of no correlation. Using a template fit method, the fraction of events ...
Investigation of effect of design and operating parameters on acoustophoretic particle separation via 3D device-level simulations
Sahin, Mehmet Akif; ÇETİN, BARBAROS; Özer, Mehmet Bülent (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2019-12-16)
In the present study, a 3D device-level numerical model is implemented via finite element method to assess the effects of design and operating parameters on the separation performance of a microscale acoustofluidic device. Elastodynamic equations together with electromechanical coupling at the piezoelectric actuators for the stress field within the solid parts, Helmholtz equation for the acoustic field within fluid, and Navier-Stokes equations for the fluid flow are coupled for the simulations. Once the zer...
