Optimum design of high-speed flexible robotic arms with dynamic behavior constraints
Oral, Süha (1997-10-01)
A methodology is presented for the optimum design of robotic arms under time-dependent stress and displacement constraints by using mathematical programming. Finite elements are used in the modeling of the flexible links. The design variables are the cross-sectional dimensions of the elements. The time dependence of the constraints is removed through the use of equivalent constraints based on the most critical constraints. It is shown that this approach yields a better design than using equivalent constrain...
Integration of GIS techniques with tourism planning a case study: Bodrum Peninsula, Muğla, Turkey
Erkin, Eda; Usul, Nurunnisa; Department of Geodetic and Geographical Information Technologies (2010)
Tourism is an important economic activity in our country as it is all around the world. It is also defined as an industry which is related to other economical sectors. Therefore, governments need to manage, develop and market the tourism facilities so that tourism industry can help economical growth effectively. Tourism planning means to manage large amount of data. Therefore, it is desirable to integrate Geographic Information Systems and also Remote Sensing to planning. The aim of the thesis is to define ...
Adsorption of H2O on double layer stepped Si(111) surface
Katırcıoğlu, Şenay (1997-03-10)
We have investigated possible water adsorption forms on stepped Si(111) surface. Calculations have been performed by using the empirical tight-binding method. Two types of adsorption model of water on single layer stepped Si(111) surface have been considered; one of them is the dissociative type (H, OH) and the other is the molecular type (H2O). The total electronic energy and TDOS calculations lead to a dissociative type of adsorption of water on stepped Si(111) surface excluding the molecular type. (C) 19...
MTDNA based genetic diversity of native sheep breeds and Anatolian mouflon (Ovis Gmelini Anatolica)
Demirci, Sevgin; Togan, İnci Zehra; Department of Bioinformatics (2012)
In the present study, history of domestic sheep were investigated by mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) based haplogroups (HPG) of 628 samples and mtDNA control region (CR) sequences of 240 samples from 13 Turkish sheep breeds which were located in the hearth of the first domestication center. Also, 30 Anatolian wild sheep (Ovis gmelinii anatolica) mtDNA CR sequences were obtained to contribute to the scenarios on initial domestication stages of sheep. Haplogroup compositions of breeds were identified with SSCP meth...
