A certificate based approach is proposed for access control operations of context aware systems for multi domain environments. New model deals with the removal of inter-domain communication requirement in access request evaluation process. The study is applied on a prototype implementation with configuration for two di erent cases to show the applicability of the proposed certificate based, context aware access control model for multi domain environments. The outputs for the cases show that proposed access control model can satisfy the requirements of a context aware access control model while removing inter domain communication needs which may cause some latency in access request evaluation phase.

An Information security framework for web services in enterprise networks
Sarıkoz, Bahadır Gökhan; Günel Kılıç, Banu; Department of Information Systems (2015)
Web Service, an open standard based on existing Internet protocols, provides a flexible solution to web application integration. It provides faster, more practical and more effective way of solutions for the organizational structures. Online shopping, billing, reservation and other way of standards provided to people mostly depend on web services. On the other hand, it provides corporate identity and functionality of an organization. Since the importance and the necessity of the web services increase day by...
A knowledge based product line for semantic modeling of web service families
Orhan, Umut; Doğru, Ali Hikmet; Department of Computer Engineering (2008)
Some mechanisms to enable an effective transition from domain models to web service descriptions are developed. The introduced domain modeling support provides verification and correction on the customization part. An automated mapping mechanism from the domain model to web service ontologies is also developed. The proposed approach is based on Feature-Oriented Domain Analysis (FODA), Semantic Web technologies and ebXML Business Process Specification Schema (ebBP). Major contributions of this work are the c...
Design and implementation of a plug-in framework for distributed object technologies
Kadıoğlu, Koray; Doğru, Ali Hikmet; Department of Computer Engineering (2006)
This thesis presents a framework design and implementation that enables run-time selection of different remote call mechanisms. In order to implement an extendable and modular system with run-time upgrading facility, a plug-in framework design is used. Since such a design requires enhanced usage of run-time facilities of the programming language that is used to implement the framework, in this study Java is selected because of its reflection and dynamic class loading facilities. A sample usage of this frame...
A conformance and interoperability test suite for Turkey’s National Health Information System (NHIS) and an interactive test control and monitoring environment
Sınacı, Ali Anıl; Doğaç, Asuman; Department of Computer Engineering (2009)
Conformance to standards and interoperability is a major challenge of today`s applications in all domains. Several standards have been developed and some are still under development to address the various layers in the interoperability stack. Conformance and interoperability testing involves checking whether the applications conform to the standards so that they can interoperate with other conformant systems. Only through testing, correct information exchange among applications can be guaranteed. National H...
A C++ implementation and evoluation of alternative plan generation methods for multiple query optimization
Abudula, Dilixiati; Coşar, Ahmet; Department of Computer Engineering (2006)
In this thesis, alternative plan generation methods for multiple query optimization(MQO) are introduced and an implementation in the C++ programming.language has been developed. Multiple query optimization, aims to minimize the total cost of executing a set of relational database queries. In traditional single query optimization only the cost of execution of a single relational database query is minimized. In single query optimization a search is performed to investigate possible alternative methods of acce...
