The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of muscle fatigue on shooting accuracy in male handball players. Sixteen elite young male handball players (age: 17.12±1.74 year; height: 185.26±7.17; body mass: 78.93±11.07) volunteered to participate in the study. The study composed of laboratory and field test sessions. In the laboratory test, maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max) obtained from treadmill running test, blood lactate concentration, heart rate monitoring at resting and every 3 minutes during running were measured. Running speed equal to 75% speed at VO2max values of participants was used as initial velocity for 30-15 intermittent fitness test (30-15IFT). In the field tests, after determined the optimum shooting velocity of each participant, they shots to each targets placed at the four corner of the handball goal 4 times, totally 16 times. Blood lactate concentration was measured from the earlobe of participant who completed shooting to target test session. Then, 30-15IFT was applied as fatigue protocol and at the end of the test, blood lactate concentration was measured again and participant repeated shooting to target test session immediately after fatigue protocol. During all shooting procedures, acceleration of wrist and speed of ball were recorded. Blood lactate concentration over 8mmol/L, v 90% of HRmax, respiratory exchange ratio>1 and exhaustion of participant accepted ending criteria for the tests. As a result, no significant differences were found between pre-fatigue and post-fatigue protocols in terms of accurate and inaccurate shots. Shooting consistency, ball speed, response time, X, Y, Z axis of wrist acceleration variables highly correlated each other in terms of shooting accuracy both in pre and post fatigue conditions. Shooting consistency has an effect on accurate shots. Ball velocity has effect on inaccurate shots in pre-fatigue condition. However, none of variable has effect on accurate and inaccurate shots in post-fatigue conditions. In pre-fatigue conditions, right to left motion of wrist (X axis) was the most important motion, back to forward motion (y axis) was became more important in post fatigue condition.

Effect of different joint positions, rotator cuff muscle fatigue and experience on shoulder proprioceptive sense among male volleyball players
Kablan, Nilüfer; Korkusuz, Feza; Department of Physical Education and Sports (2004)
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different joint positions, rotator cuff muscle fatigue and experience on shoulder proprioceptive sense among male volleyball players. The participants of the study were 20 experienced (Mage= 20.7 ? 2.8) and 20 inexperienced (Mage= 17.1 ? 1.0) male volleyball players being members of first league volleyball teams. Measurements were made by Biodex System 3 pro (Biodex Medical Systems, Inc., New York, USA) and only dominant extremities were assessed. Shoulder...
Effects of exercise intensity and stimulus speed on coincidence anticipation timing with respect to gender in adolescent badmington players
Alaei, Foad; Kirazcı, Sadettin; Department of Physical Education and Sports (2015)
Purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of exercise intensity and stimulus speed on Coincidence Anticipation Timing (CAT) performance with respect to gender in adolescent badminton players. Forty one male (n = 20) and female (n = 21) competitive badminton players (aged 11-17 years old) voluntarily participated to this study after ethical approval. CAT performance was measured by Bassin Anticipation Timer at 1mph (low) and 5 mph (high) stimulus speeds using an incremental running protocol under ...

Investigation of the Effect of Vertimax V8 Elastic Resistance Platform and Classic Strength Training on Dynamic Balance in Basketball Players
YÜKSEL, OĞUZHAN; ERZEYBEK, MUSTAFA SAİD; KAYA, FATİH; Kirazcı, Sadettin (2019-03-01)
This study aimed to investigate the effects on the dynamic balance of two different resistance training in male basketball players. 25 male basketball players who were over 18 participated in the study voluntarily. Participants were divided into two groups by using random sampling method as VertiMax strength training group and traditional strength training group (VertiMax, n=13; classic, n=12). Both training programs were administered 3 times a day for 6 weeks. In standing position, the dynamic balance valu...
Effects of Internal, External and Preference of Attentional Focus Feedback Instructions on Learning Soccer "Head Kick"
Micoogullari, Blent Okan; Kirazcı, Sadettin; Altunsoz, Omur Serdal (2012-01-01)
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of different types of feedback on learning soccer "head kick" of female adolescent. Novices performed head kick during two practice days [one week apart) for two weeks using either internal or external preference attentional focusing instructions. There was also a preference group who choosen their feedback type themselves. Internal focus feedback related with body movements, whereas external focus feedback related with movement effects. The subjects (N=6...
