Control of macrostructure in deformation processing of metal/metal laminates
Yazar, O; Ediz, T; Öztürk, Tayfur (2005-01-01)
A study was carried out on model systems deformed under plane-strain. Finite element analysis was used to examine continuously and discontinuously layered models, in which the reinforcement to matrix flow stress ratio, r(s), was varied within the range 1.5 < r(s) < 10. It was found that, for homogeneous refinement of continuously reinforced laminates, the critical value of r(s) is approximately 2. This value, valid for the ideal plastic case, can be increased to a maximum value of r(s) approximate to5 with ...

Control of constrained spatial three-link flexible manipulators
KILIÇASLAN, SİNAN; Özgören, Mustafa Kemal; Ider, S. Kemal (2007-06-29)
This study deals with the force and motion control of a spatial three-link articulated manipulator with flexible second and third links. In order to reduce the complexity of the dynamic equations each link is modelled as if unconnected and the joint connections are expressed as constraint equations. Then the joint forces are eliminated and the number of equations is reduced by substituting the acceleration level constraint equations into the dynamic equations. The dynamic equations are partitioned as pseudo...
Control of spatial phase empowering spectral splitting and concentration of solar spectrum
Gün, Berk Nezir; Yüce, Emre (2020-11-25)
Harvesting energy from a broad-spectrum light with high efficiency is a long-standing endeavor given the increasingly important energy source yet to be exploited further: sunlight. No material alone can derive energy from a broadband light with high efficiency. That being the case, the methods benefitting from spectral sub-bands together with concentration are in demand to utilize record level efficiency in photovoltaic cells. It is possible to get these sub-bands by portioning a broadband light through...
Control of Robotic Swarm Behaviors based on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics
Erkmen, Aydan Müşerref; Paç, Raşid (2007-10-28)
The paper presents a fluid dynamics based framework for control of emergent behaviors of robot swarms that are modeled as fluids. A distributed low-level control mechanism is developed based on Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) and it is coupled with a high-level control layer that is responsible for the control of fluid parameters to generate desired behaviors from the swarming characteristics of the robots. It is shown by simulations that using the same low-level SPH model, different swarming behavior...
