Control of macrostructure in deformation processing of metal/metal laminates
Yazar, O; Ediz, T; Öztürk, Tayfur (2005-01-01)
A study was carried out on model systems deformed under plane-strain. Finite element analysis was used to examine continuously and discontinuously layered models, in which the reinforcement to matrix flow stress ratio, r(s), was varied within the range 1.5 < r(s) < 10. It was found that, for homogeneous refinement of continuously reinforced laminates, the critical value of r(s) is approximately 2. This value, valid for the ideal plastic case, can be increased to a maximum value of r(s) approximate to5 with ...

Controlling and modelling of twin induced strain localization in rolling of magnesium AZ31
İsmail, Kübra; Efe, Mert; Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (2019)
Formability of AZ31 Magnesium alloy has certain limits below 200 ℃ and depends strongly on temperature, due to the strain localization and shear banding associated with the twinning activity. In this thesis, magnesium sheets with basal, off-basal (90° tilted) and mixed (50% basal + 50% off-basal) textures are rolled between room temperature and 165 ℃ to understand and control the twinning-induced localizations. By increasing strain from 0.1 to 0.6 and raising the temperature, the fraction of flow localized ...
Control of the Crystal Growth Shape in CH3NH3PbBr3 Perovskite Materials
Le, Quyet Van; Shin, Jong Wook; Jung, Jin-Hee; PARK, JONGEE; Öztürk, Abdullah; Kim, Soo Young (2017-11-01)
CH3NH3PbBr3 (MAPbBr(3)) materials with perovskite structure were grown by a two-step process using Pb(CH3COO)(2). 3H(2)O and methyl amine bromide (MABr). By changing the concentration of MABr in isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solvent and the annealing temperature, the shape of CH3NH3PbBr3 materials can be controlled to afford nanocubes, nanowires, nanorods, and wrinkled structures. MAPbBr3 with single cubic structure was obtained at a MABr concentration of 3 mg/mL in IPA, and a nanorod array of MAPbBr3 was realize...
