In this study, benzotriazole and quinoxaline derivates bearing donor acceptor type three random copolymers were synthesized to achieve broad absorption spectrum in visible region. Quinoxalines are used as strong acceptors in conjugated polymers due to the imine nitrogen in the structure. Quinoxaline containing polymers are green in their neutral states and they reveal two distinct λmax at around 400 and 700 nm. Additionally, benzotriazole and thiophene bearing polymers are red in their neutral states with λmax at around 500 nm. In this manner, quinoxaline derivates were combined with benzotriazole and π-bridge thiophene moieties. 5,8-Dibromo-2,3di(thiophen-2-yl)quinoxaline, 5,8-dibromo-2,3-diphenylquinoxaline and 10,13dibromodibenzo[a,c]phenazine acceptor units were united with 4,7-dibromo-2-(2octyldodecyl)-2H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazole and 2,5-bis(trimethylstannyl)thiophene via Stille coupling reaction to yield alternating donor acceptor parts with randomly vi distributed several different acceptor units through polymer backbones with broad absorption in visible region. Synthesized polymers were characterized with NMR, thermogravimetric analysis, cyclic voltammetry and UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy. Organic solar cells device production and current-voltage property measurements were conducted in a nitrogen-filled glove box system. Organic solar cell devices with the configuration of ITO/PEDOT:PSS/Polymer:PC71BM/LiF/Al were fabricated in which polymers serve as electron donors and PC71BM as the electron acceptor in the active layer. Power conversion efficiencies of Polymer: PC71BM blends were measured under standard AM 1.5 G illumination (100 mW/cm2). The organic solar cells devices employing CoP1:PC71BM films showed power conversion efficiencies up to 2.13%.

This study focused on modifying the alkyl‐end‐group of benzotriazole and thiophene containing conjugated polymers. Introducing a moiety with struc‐turally rigid and tendency to enhance the π‐π stacking and also absorption in the high energetic region, influence the both electronic and optic properties of the conjugated polymers. Stille cross coupling chemical polymerization method was performed to synthesize the polymer contains: benzotriazole and bisthiophene. Characterizations of polymers were done in ter...
Benzodithiophene and benzotriazole bearing alternating copolymers, effect of thiophene and bithiophene _-bridges on photovoltaic properties
İstanbulluoğlu, Çağla; Toppare, Levent Kamil; Department of Chemistry (2016)
In this study, two novel 1,2,3-benzotriazole and benzodithiophene bearing alternating copolymers were synthesized via Stille coupling reaction. Benzodithiophene was used as the donor moiety due to its strong electron donating ability and planar structure. Benzotriazole moiety was incorporated as the acceptor unit due to its electron deficient nature. Moreover, thiophene (P1) and bithiophene (P2) conjugated moieties were incorporated between donor and acceptor units in order to investigate the effect of π-br...

In this study, donor-acceptor random polymers containing benzotriazole acceptor and bistriphenylamine and benzodithiophene donors, P1 and P2, were successfully synthesized by Stille coupling polymerization. The effect of bistriphenylamine moiety and thiophene -conjugated linker on electrochemical, spectroelectrochemical, and optical behaviors of the polymers were investigated. Optoelectronic properties and photovoltaic performance of the polymers were examined under the illumination of AM 1.5G, 100 mWcm(-2)...
Abiotic stress tolerance and growth responses of transgenic potato (Solanum tuberosum L. cv. Kennebec) plants expressing rice Osmyb4 gene

MYB transcription factors are involved in diverse biochemical and physiological processes such as regulation of secondary metabolism, meristem formation, cell morphogenesis and floral and seed development. They are also involved in certain defence and stress responses and in hormone signalling. In the present study, we developed transgenic potato (Solanum tuberosum L. cv. Kennebec) expressing Oryza sativa myb4 gene, encoding MYB4 transcription factor, driven by either CaMV35S constitutive promoter or cold i...
Vitamin D-2 at high and low concentrations exert opposing effects on molecular order and dynamics of dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine membranes
Kazanci, N; Toyran, N; Haris, PI; Severcan, Feride (2001-01-01)
Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopic studies show that low concentrations of vitamin D-2 (1 and 3 mol %) does not induce significant change in the overall shape of the thermotropic profile of dipalmitoyl phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) membrane. In contrast, at higher concentrations of vitamin D-2 (9 and 12 mol %), the phase transition shifts to lower temperatures and a significant broadening in the phase transition curve is also observed. Low concentration of vitamin D-2 decreases the frequency of the CH2 s...
