Tl2InGaS4 layered crystals are studied through the dark electrical conductivity, space charge limited current and illumination- and temperature-dependent photoconductivity measurements in the temperature regions of 220-350 K, 300-400 K and 200-350 K, respectively. The space charge limited current measurements revealed the existence of a single discrete trapping level located at 0.44 eV. The dark electrical conductivity showed the existence of two energy levels of 0.32 eV and 0.60 eV being dominant above and below 300 K, respectively. The photoconductivity measurements reflected the existence of two other energy levels located at 0.28 eV and 0.19 eV at high and low temperatures, respectively. The photocurrent is observed to increase with increasing temperature up to a maximum temperature of 330 K. The illumination dependence of photoconductivity is found to exhibit supralinear recombination in all the studied temperature ranges. The change in recombination mechanism is attributed to exchange in the behavior of sensitizing and recombination centers.

Photoelectrical properties of TlGaSe2 single crystals
Özdemir, Salahattin (2014-07-01)
The spectral distribution of photocurrent (PC) of TlGaSe2 single crystals in the range of wavelengths between 500 nm and 700 nm possesses a single maximum at 2.04 eV corresponds to the direct energy band gap of this crystal. The PC is enhanced dramatically by pre-illuminations at low temperatures with band gap light. The temperature dependence of PC of the sample investigated in the temperature range from 80 K to 300 K at constant heating rate shows that the overlapping peaks in the PC spectrum are direct r...
Optical properties of TlGaxIn1-xSe2-layered mixed crystals (0.5 <= x <= 1) by spectroscopic ellipsometry, transmission, and reflection
IŞIK, MEHMET; Delice, S.; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2014-01-01)
The layered semiconducting TlGaxIn1-xSe2-mixed crystals (0.5 <= x <= 1) were studied for the first time by spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements in the 1.2-6.2 eV spectral range at room temperature. The spectral dependence of the components of the complex dielectric function, refractive index, and extinction coefficient were revealed using an optical model. The interband transition energies in the studied samples were found from the analysis of the second-energy derivative spectra of the complex dielectri...
Photoelectronic and electrical properties of InS crystals
Qasrawi, AF; Hasanlı, Nızamı (IOP Publishing, 2002-12-01)
To identify the localized levels in InS single crystals, the dark electrical conductivity, current-voltage characteristics and photoconductivity measurements were carried out in the temperature range of 10-350 K. Temperature dependence of dark electrical conductivity and the space-charge limited current studies indicate the presence of a single discrete trapping level located at (10 +/- 2) meV below the conduction band with a density of about 4.8 x 10(11) cm(-3). The conductivity data above 110 K reveal an ...
Dark electrical conductivity and photoconductivity of Ga(4)Se(3)S layered single crystals
QASRAWI, ATEF FAYEZ HASAN; Hasanlı, Nızamı (2008-11-01)
Ga(4)Se(3)S layered crystals were studied through the dark electrical conductivity, and illumination- and temperature-dependent photoconductivity in the temperature region of 100-350 K. The dark electrical conductivity reflected the existence of two energy states located at 3 10 and 60 meV being dominant above and below 170 K, respectively. The photoconductivity measurements revealed the existence of another two energy levels located at 209 and 91 meV above and below 230 K. The photoconductivity was observe...
Photoelectronic, optical and electrical properties of TlInS2 single crystals
Qasrawi, AF; Hasanlı, Nızamı (Wiley, 2003-09-01)
To specify the donor energy levels in TlInS2 single crystals, the dark electrical resistivity, photoconductivity and Hall measurements were carried out in the temperature range of 100-400 K, 110-350 K and 170-400 K, respectively. The Hall measurements revealed that the crystals exhibit an anomalous behavior of Hall voltage by changing sign (from p-type to n-type conductivity) at 315 K. By means of the temperature dependence of dark electrical resistivity, Hall coefficient and photocurrent measurements the d...
