The unsteady magnetohydrodynamic flow of a dusty fluid and heat transfer between parallel plates in which the electrically conducting fluid has temperature-dependent viscosity is studied. Both the fluid and the dust particles are governed by the coupled set of momentum and energy equations. The Chebyshev spectral method in space and implicit backward difference in time procedure is presented, introducing physically Navier-slip conditions for both the fluid and dust particle velocities. The Hartmann number, viscosity parameter, and Navier-slip parameter influences on the flow and temperature are simulated.

Chebyshev Spectral Collocation Method for Natural Convection Flow of a Micropolar Nanofluid in the Presence of a Magnetic Field
Türk, Önder (2016-01-01)
The two-dimensional, laminar, unsteady natural convection flow of a micropolar nanofluid (Al2O3-water) in a square enclosure under the influence of a magnetic field, is solved numerically using the Chebyshev spectral collocation method (CSCM). The nanofluid is considered as Newtonian and incompressible, and the nanoparticles and water are assumed to be in thermal equilibrium. The governing equations in nondimensional form are given in terms of stream function, vorticity, micrototaion and temperature. The co...
A CSCM approximation of steady MHD flow and heat transfer between parallel plates with hydrodynamic slip and convective boundary conditions
Tezer, Münevver; Türk, Önder (null; 2019-10-04)
The steady magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow together with its heat transfer between parallel plates is considered in which the electrically conducting fluid has temperature dependent properties such as viscosity, thermal and electrical conductivity. The fluid is driven by a constant pressure gradient, and a uniform external transverse magnetic field is applied perpendicular to the plates. The effects of viscous and Joule dissipations are considered in the energy equation, and the fluid is assumed to be slippi...
A FEM approach to biomagnetic fluid flow in multiple stenosed channels
Turk, O.; Bozkaya, Canan; Tezer, Münevver (Elsevier BV, 2014-06-25)
The unsteady and laminar biomagnetic fluid flow of a viscous, incompressible, Newtonian and electrically conducting fluid is numerically investigated. Specifically, the two-dimensional flow driven in an infinite channel containing multiple stenosis and subject to a spatially varying external magnetic field is considered. The numerical method is based on the use of finite element method (FEM) in spatial discretization and unconditionally stable backward finite difference scheme for the time integration, for ...
Convergence, stability, and numerical solution of unsteady free convection magnetohydrodynamical flow between two slipping plates
Arslan, Sinem (2021-09-01)
In this study, the unsteady free convection magnetohydrodynamical flow of a viscous, incompressible, and electrically conducting fluid between two horizontally directed slipping plates is considered. The external magnetic filed is applied uniformly in the y-direction and the fluid is assumed to be of low conductivity so that the induced magnetic field is negligible. So the relevant variables, that is, the velocity and the temperature, depend only on one coordinate, the y-axis. The governing equations of vel...
DRBEM simulation on mixed convection with hydromagnetic effect
Bozkaya, Canan (2014-09-25)
The steady and laminar mixed convection flow of a viscous, incompressible, and electrically conducting fluid under the effect of an inclined magnetic field is numerically investigated. Specifically, the two-dimensional flow in a lid-driven cavity with a linearly heated wall is considered. The dual reciprocity boundary element method is used for solving the coupled nonlinear differential equations in terms of stream function, vorticity, and temperature. The study focuses on the effects of the physical parame...
