A comparative analysis of inter-industry wage differentials: industrialized versus developing countries

2001-10-01
Erdil, Erkan
YETKINER, IH
This study aims to compare the available evidence on inter-industry wage structure for industrialized and developing countries and to rnd whether the industry wage differentials are consistent and stable independent of time and space. Moreover, it tries to clarify some of the determinants of industry wage differentials. International evidence supports the wage differential regularity across countries, and the factors underlying inter-industry wage differentials are found to be more or less the same for both industrialized and developing countries.

Enflasyon ve İşsizlik Oranı Algısının İncelenmesi: Bir Anket Çalışması
Büyükboyacı Hanay, Mürüvvet İlknur; Özdemir, Özlem; Küçükşenel, Serkan (2020-12-01)

A comparison of some robust regression techniques
Avcı, Ezgi; Köksal, Gülser; Department of Industrial Engineering (2009)
Robust regression is a commonly required approach in industrial studies like data mining, quality control and improvement, and finance areas. Among the robust regression methods; Least Median Squares, Least Trimmed Squares, Mregression, MM-method, Least Absolute Deviations, Locally Weighted Scatter Plot Smoothing and Multivariate Adaptive Regression Splines are compared under contaminated normal distributions with each other and Ordinary Least Squares with respect to the multiple outlier detection performan...
A relational perspective of institutional work
Topal, Çağrı (Cambridge University Press (CUP), 2015-07-01)
This study develops a relational model of institutional work. The past research implies that the nature of relationships between individual actors actually shapes the nature of institutional work the actors engage in. However, the research falls short of an explicit, systematic analysis of different relationships between the actors and their work implications. This study basically argues that the actors' power positions, which might be dominant or subordinate in relation to those of other actors, and their ...
A comparative evaluation of knowledge and income spillovers: the case of Antalya and İzmir city regions
Hasirci, Hediye Nur; Eraydın, Ayda; Department of City and Regional Planning (2008)
The empirical literature in economic geography has recently dealt with two fundamental questions, whether growth or innovation is spatially bounded or not and how far the economic growth is determined by knowledge. In this thesis, relations between economic growth and knowledge relation is discussed from spatial spillovers perspective with the help of spatial econometric techniques. Adding city-region discussion to the existing literature, the thesis aims to evaluate the economic growth and knowledge spillo...
