We present a detailed functional renormalization group analysis of spin-1/2 dipolar Heisenberg model on square lattice. This model is similar to the well-known J(1)-J(2) model and describes the pseudospin degrees of freedom of polar molecules confined in deep optical lattice with long-range anisotropic dipole-dipole interactions. Previous study of this model based on tensor network ansatz indicates a paramagnetic ground state for certain dipole tilting angles which can be tuned in experiments to control the exchange couplings. The tensor ansatz formulated on a small cluster unit cell is inadequate to describe the spiral order, and therefore the phase diagram at high azimuthal tilting angles remains undetermined. Here, we obtain the full phase diagram of the model from numerical pseudofermion functional renormalization group calculations. We show that an extended quantum paramagnetic phase is realized between the Neel and stripe/spiral phases. In this region, the spin susceptibility flows smoothly down to the lowest numerical renormalization group scales with no sign of divergence or breakdown of the flow, in sharp contrast to the flow towards the long-range-ordered phases. Our results provide further evidence that the dipolar Heisenberg model is a fertile ground for quantum spin liquids.

New hidden beauty molecules predicted by the local hidden gauge approach and heavy quark spin symmetry
Xiao, C. W.; Özpineci, Altuğ; Oset, E. (2010-06-24)
Using a coupled channel unitary approach, combining the heavy quark spin symmetry and the dynamics of the local hidden gauge, we investigate the meson-meson interaction with hidden beauty. We obtain several new states of isospin I = 0: six bound states, and weakly bound six more possible states which depend on the influence of the coupled channel effects.
Radiative rho(+)->pi(+)gamma decay in light cone QCD
Gokalp, A; Yılmaz, Osman (2001-10-01)
We investigate the radiative rho (+) --> pi (+)gamma decay in the framework of the light cone QCD sum rules. We estimate the coupling constant gp,, for this decay and using this value of the coupling constant, we calculate the decay width of the rho (+) --> pi (+)gamma decay. Our result is in good agreement with the experimental value.
Electron Transport Properties of Ga0.51In0.49P for Device Applications
Beşikci, Cengiz (1994-01-01)
We present Monte Carlo calculations of steady-state and transient electron transport properties of Ga0.51In0.49P. We have made a simulation-based comparison between Ga0.51In0.49P and AlxGa1-xAs (x = 0.2, 0.3). Our Monte Carlo data show that transport properties of Ga0.51In0.49P are favorable, and when the other advantages of the GaInP/GaAs system are also taken into account. this material is a good choice to replace AlxGa1-xAs (x greater-than-or-equal-to 0.3). We have also calculated electron drift and Hall...
Full-wave optimization of three-dimensional photonic-crystal structures involving dielectric rods
KARAOSMANOGLU, Bariscan; ERAY, Hamza; Ergül, Özgür Salih (2018-07-01)
We present rigorous optimization and design of three-dimensional photonic-crystal (PhC) structures involving finite dielectric rods. These types of PhCs are known to be useful in diverse applications, such as imaging, power focusing, filtering, and pattern shaping at optical frequencies. Without resorting to their two-dimensional models, which are commonly used in the literature, we consider PhCs as three-dimensional structures, whose electromagnetic characteristics are optimized via genetic algorithms inte...
Weight discrimination of boolean functions with quantum computation
Uyanık, Kıvanç; Turgut, Sadi; Department of Physics (2014)
In this thesis, we investigate solvability of the weight decision problem of two Boolean functions by quantum computation. In particular, we study this problem first from a general quantum operator discrimination perspective and second from a direct algorithmic viewpoint. As quantum operator discrimination approach is concerned, we give two different formulations for two different cases. In one, the unitary transformations that correspond to the function evaluation are applied in a parallel fashion and in t...
