Compositional variation of the lattice parameters of TlBX2-type (B = Ga or In and X = S or Se) mixed crystals with monoclinic structure were studied by X-ray diffraction technique. The lattice anisotropy (c/b) of these mixed crystals changes linearly with substitution of the atoms located both at the centers and the vertices of the corresponding BX4 tetrahedra. A brief survey of the important features of the effect of isomorphic atom substitution on the lattice anisotropy and the unit cell volume of TIBX2-type mixed crystals with layered structure was presented.

Effect of isomorphic atom substitution on the lattice parameters and the optical absorption edge of TIGaSe2-TllnSe2 mixed crystals
Hasanlı, Nızamı (2006-05-01)
The variation of lattice parameters of TlGaSe2-TlInSe 2 mixed crystals with composition have been investigated by using of X-ray diffraction technique. For the mixed crystals studied, a structural phase transition (monoclinic to tetragonal) due to atom substitution is observed when the sum of the tetrahedral covalent radii of the Ga(In) and the Se atoms in Ga(In)Se4 tetrahedra reaches a critical value of about 0.254 nm. From transmission and reflection measurements, the compositional dependence of the indir...
Effect of isomorphic atom substitution on lattice parameters of TlBX2-type mixed crystals

EFFECT OF CAN ARRANGEMENT ON TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION IN STILL RETORT STERILIZATION
SUMER, A; ESIN, A (Elsevier BV, 1992-01-01)
A general dynamic mathematical model was developed to predict the effect of can arrangement geometry on temperature distribution within cans in still retorts. For this purpose, the temperature variation in the cans was recorded for various can arrangements. Also, the influence of the physical properties of the material and the mechanism of heat transfer for heat penetration were studied. Experiments were carried out with water, peas in brine and tomato paste in no. 3 cans in an experimental vertical stil...
KINETIC COMPENSATION DURING HOMOGENEOUS AND HETEROGENEOUS NUCLEATION OF ICE IN AQUEOUS SYSTEMS
OZILGEN, S; OZILGEN, M; REID, DS (Elsevier BV, 1994-01-01)
Homogeneous and heterogeneous nucleation rates of ice in aqueous systems are described in the literature with the equation J = A exp (B tau). There are a very large number of published data available for variation of the constants A and B with experimental conditions. Results of this study show that the parameters obtained in the experiments with differential scanning calorimeter and the microscopic technique may be described separately with an empirical compensation equation of the form In A = aB + b. The ...
