Suzaku analysis of the supernova remnant G306.3-0.9 and the gamma-ray view of its neighbourhood

We present an investigation of the supernova remnant (SNR) G306.3-0.9, using archival multiwavelength data. The Suzaku spectra are well described by two-component thermal plasma models: the soft component is in ionization equilibrium and has a temperature similar to 0.59 keV, while the hard component has temperature similar to 3.2 keV and ionization time-scale similar to 2.6 x 10(10) cm(-3) s. We clearly detected Fe K-shell line at energy of similar to 6.5 keV from this remnant. The overabundances of Si, S, Ar, Ca and Fe confirm that the X-ray emission has an ejecta origin. The centroid energy of the Fe K line supports that G306.3-0.9 is a remnant of a Type Ia supernova (SN) rather than a core-collapse SN. The GeV gamma-ray emission from G306.3-0.9 and its surrounding were analysed using about 6-yr of Fermi data. We report about the non-detection of G306.3-0.9 and the detection of a new extended gamma-ray source in the south-west of G306.3-0.9 with significance of similar to 13 sigma. We discuss several scenarios for these results with the help of data from other wavebands to understand the SNR and its neighbourhood.

In this paper, we present the results from a Suzaku observation of the Galactic supernova remnant G272.2-3.2. The spectra of G272.2-3.2 are well fitted by a single-temperature variable abundance non-equilibrium ionization (VNEI) model with an electron temperature kTe similar to 0.77 keV, an ionization time-scale t similar to 6.5 x 1010 cm-3 s and an absorbing column density NH similar to 1.1 x 1022 cm-2. Suzaku Analysis of Galactic Supernova Remnants G27.4+0.0 and G12.0-0.1

We present Suzaku results of galactic supernova remnants (SNRs) G27.4 +0.0 and G12.0-0.1. From the spectra some important parameters like galactic hydrogen column density (N-H), electron temperature (kT(e)), ionization timescale (n(e)t) are calculated. Furthermore, the abundances of Mg, Si, S are derived from the spectra of G27.4+0.0 indicating that G27.4+0.0 has originated from a core-collapse supernova explosion.
Investigating the region of 3C 397 in High Energy Gamma rays

We investigate the supernova remnant (SNR) 3C 397 and its neighboring pulsar PSR J1906+0722 in high energy gamma rays by using nearly six years of archival data of Large Area Telescope on board Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope (Fermi-LAT). The off-pulse analysis of gamma-ray flux from the location of PSR J1906+0722 reveals an excess emission which is found to be very close to the radio location of 3C 397. Here, we present the preliminary results of this gamma-ray analysis of 3C 397 and PSR J1906+0722.

This thesis presents an analysis of high-resolution X-ray spectra of four non-magnetic cataclysmic variables based on archival data of XMM-Newton and Chandra observatories. The analysis focuses on the classical novae data in outburst; V2491 Cyg, V4743 Sgr and V407 Lupi taken by XMM-Newton RGS, and KT Eridani taken by Chandra HRC-S+LETG. Precision Measurement of the (e(+) + e(-)) Flux in Primary Cosmic Rays from 0.5 GeV to 1 TeV with the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer on the International Space Station

We present a measurement of the cosmic ray (e(+) + e(-)) flux in the range 0.5 GeV to 1 TeV based on the analysis of 10.6 million (e(+) + e(-)) events collected by AMS. The statistics and the resolution of AMS provide a precision measurement of the flux. The flux is smooth and reveals new and distinct information. Above 30.2 GeV, the flux can be described by a single power law with a spectral index gamma = -3.170 +/- 0.008(stat + syst) +/- 0.008(energy scale).
