An axially symmetric scalar field and teleparallelism
Korunur, M.; Salti, M.; Aydogdu, O. (Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2007-03-01)
An axially symmetric scalar field is considered in teleparallel gravity. We calculate, respectively, the tensor, the vector and the axial-vector parts of torsion and energy, momentum and angular momentum in the ASSF. We find the vector parts are in the radial and (e) over cap (theta) directions, the axial-vector, momentum and angular momentum vanish identically, but the energy distribution is different from zero. The vanishing axial-vector part of torsion gives us the result that there occurs no deviation i...
An improvement in the prediction of source terms in discrete transfer method
Selçuk, Nevin (1998-08-28)
A method for improving the accuracy of radiative energy source term predictions of the classical discrete transfer method, is proposed. It is based on computation of radiative energy source terms by firing rays from medium-grid points, tracing the rays back from points of intersection with the walls to the medium grid paints and utilising the radiative energy conservation equation as opposed to tracing rays fired from surface grid points with subsequent summation of contributions from all the rays which hap...

An Experimental and numerical investigation of warpage behavior of silicon substrates at cryogenic temperatures
Baloğlu, Eyüp Can; Okutucu Özyurt, Hanife Tuba; Dursunkaya, Zafer; Department of Mechanical Engineering (2016)
Surface deformations and thermal stress behavior of microelectronic devices that operate at cryogenic temperatures (less than 120 K) and under vacuum conditions are important phenomena that aff ect the reliability requirements of such components. Excessive deformation and thermal stress on these devices may result in interconnect failure, performance degradation or other direct mechanical failure of one or more components. To obtain reliable products, surface deformations, named as warpage most widely, and ...
An experimental study of liquid bridges between spheres in a gravitational field
Bayramlı, Erdal; Van de Ven, T.G.M (Elsevier BV, 1987-4)
The approximate theory proposed in reference [1] for viscoelastic layered composites is appraised by applying it to a transient wave propagation problem. The problem involves a viscoelastic slab subjected at one end to a dynamic pressure which has either step or trapezoidal variation in time while its other end is kept fixed. The faces of the slab are parallel to the layering. For the case in which the composite material is elastic, which can be obtained from viscoelastic case when viscous terms vanish, the...
