A diverse-stimuli responsive chemiluminescent system, SNS-Lum, and its electropolymerization to give PSNS-Lum, which is the first example of conjugated polymers with pendant luminol arms inducing chemiluminescence in the presence of super oxide radical anion under neutral conditions, are highlighted.

A fast switching, low band gap, p- and n-dopable, donor-acceptor type polymer
Günbaş, Emrullah Görkem; Akhmedov, Idris Mecidoglu; Tanyeli, Cihangir; Önal, Ahmet Muhtar; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2008-04-01)
A new electrochromic polymer, poly(2,3-diplienyl-5,7-bis(3,4-ethylenedioxy-2-thienyl)thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine) (PGS) is electrochemically synthesized and its electrochromic properties are reported. PGS showed well defined electrochemical characteristics with a relatively low oxidation potential of 0. 18 V vs Ag/Ag+. Polymer also exhibited a definite redox couple at applied cathodic potentials, indicating n-doping characteristic of the polymer. Spectroelectrochemistry and previously unattempted technique, ESR d...
A ferrocene functionalized multichromic p and n dopable donor-acceptor-donor type conjugated polymer
Ozdemir, Serife; BALAN, Abidin; BARAN, Derya; Doğan, Özdemir; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2010-10-01)
Ferrocene substituted donor-acceptor-donor type polymer; poly(5,8-bis(2,3-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]dioxin-5-yl)-2-(naphthalen-2-yl)-3-ferrocenyl-4a,8a-dihydroquinoxaline) (PDEFNQ) was synthesized and its electrochromic properties were investigated. Cyclic voltammetry and spectroelectrochemistry studies for PDEFNQ showed that it is a multichromic green to transmissive polymer with high tendency to be both p and n doped. PDEFNQ is foreseen as a promising candidate for various applications.
Synthesis, characterization and optoelectrochemical properties of poly(1,6-bis(2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)hexane) and its copolymer with EDOT
Ak, Metin; Sahmetlioglu, Ertugrul; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2008-09-01)
A new polythiophene derivative was synthesized by electrochemical oxidative polymerization of 1,6-bis(2,5-di(thiophen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)hexane (TPH). The structure of the monomer was elucidated by H-1, C-13, MR and mass analyses. The polymer P(TPH) and its copolymer with 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (P(TPH-co-EDOT)) were synthesized via potentiostatic electrochemical polymerization. Characterizations of the resulting polymers were performed by cyclic voltammetry (CV), FTIR, UV-vis spectroscopies; and condu...
Use of multi-walled carbon nanotubes in matrix solid phase dispersion extraction combined with gas chromatography
Njie, Njaw; Aygün, Rüveyde Sezer; Department of Chemistry (2008)
The use of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) as solid sorbent in Matrix Solid-Phase Dispersion (MSPD) extraction and preconcentration method was presented to determine some commonly used organophosphorus insecticides/OPIs in honey samples using a Gas Chromatography Flame Ionization Detector (GC-FID). OPIs are poisonous compounds used to kill insects and rodents by affecting their nervous system. The limit of detections obtained after MSPD extraction were 7.0 ng/g for Malathion, Malaoxon and Fenitrothion...
A bio-sensing platform utilizing a conjugated polymer, carbon nanotubes and PAMAM combination
Buber, Ece; Kesik, Melis; Soylemez, Saniye; Toppare, Levent Kamil (Elsevier BV, 2017-08-15)
In this study, amperometric biosensing performance of a novel platform utilizing a conducting polymer (CP), multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) and poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimer was constructed. In order to fabricate the proposed biosensor, a graphite electrode was modified with poly[9,9-di-(2-ethylhexyl)-fluorenyl-2,7-diyl] end capped with N,N-bis(4-methylphenyl)-4-aniline (PFLA), MWCNTs and PAMAM, respectively. Then, GOx was immobilized onto the modified surface with the help of glutaraldehyde (GA...
