SYMPLECTIC FILLINGS OF LINKS OF QUOTIENT SURFACE SINGULARITIES – CORRIGENDUM

Chemisorption of 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane on Si(001)-(2 x 2)
Demirel, G.; Cakmak, M.; Caykara, T.; Ellialtıoğlu, Süleyman Şinasi (2007-10-18)
The results of an ab initio calculation, based on pseudopotentials and the density functional theory, for the atomic and electronic structures of the chemisorption of 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTS) on the Si(001)-(2 x 2) surface are presented. Two possible models for the chemisorption location of the APTS molecule are considered on the hydroxylated Si(001)-(2 x 2) surface: (i) an above-pedestal position (intra-row) between adjacent Si dimers and (ii) an above-hollow position. The first case is found t...
The moduli of surfaces admitting genus two fibrations over elliptic curves
Karadoğan, Gülay; Önsiper, Mustafa Hurşit; Department of Mathematics (2005)
In this thesis, we study the structure, deformations and the moduli spaces of complex projective surfaces admitting genus two fibrations over elliptic curves. We observe that, a surface admitting a smooth fibration as above is elliptic and we employ results on the moduli of polarized elliptic surfaces, to construct moduli spaces of these smooth fibrations. In the case of nonsmooth fibrations, we relate the moduli spaces to the Hurwitz schemes H(1,X(d),n) of morphisms of degree n from elliptic curves to the ...
Anisotropic elastic and vibrational properties of Ru2B3 and Os2B3: a first-principles investigation
Ozisik, Haci; Deligoz, Engin; Sürücü, Gökhan; Ozisik, Havva Bogaz (2016-07-01)
The structural, mechanical and lattice dynamical properties of Ru2B3 and Os2B3 have been investigated by using a first-principles method based on the density functional theory within the generalized gradient approximation. The single crystal elastic constants are numerically estimated using strain-stress approach. The polycrystalline aggregate elastic parameters are calculated from the single elastic constants via the Voigt-Reuss-Hill approximations. Subsequently, the ductility and brittleness are character...
VARIATION OF THE LATTICE-PARAMETERS OF A BI-BASED SUPERCONDUCTOR WITH TEMPERATURE
HAMDAN, NM; OZKAN, H; ZIQ, KA; ALBIS, BA (1994-12-01)
Variation of the lattice parameters and thermal expansion coefficients of Bi-2223 superconductor have been measured from room temperature up to the melting point using X-ray diffraction. The lattice parameters (a and c) gradually increase up to about 250 degrees C. Between 250 degrees C to 450 degrees C the variation of the lattice parameters are quite anomalous, in that a remains almost constant while c decreases. From 450 degrees C to 600 degrees C both parameters gradually increase. Above 650 degrees C t...
