The anodic peak potentials, Ep,a of various monomers were measured by cyclic voltammetry. The measurements were made in an acetonitrile + tetrabutylammonium fluoroborate system versus a Ag0Ag+ (0.01 M) reference electrode. The measured potentials were correlated to π-orbital energies and HOMO energies computed by the semi-empincal MNDO method. A linear correlation was found.

The anodic peak potentials, Ep,a of various vinyl compounds were measured by cyclic voltammetry. The measurements were made in the acetonitrile-tetrabutylammonium fluoroborate system versus a Ag0Ag+ (0.01 M) reference electrode. The measured potentials were correlated to π-orbital energies and bond orders calculated by semi-empirical SCF MO methods. A linear correlation was obtained.
